Visual anatomy & craft review
Ruggedora is a worn Cooper-style vintage slab serif: heavy bracketed slabs, a rounded stem, and a surface that is chipped along the contour with small voids inside the stroke so the letter reads as letterpress kept in a drawer. The wear is drawn, so a one-colour print keeps it, and the bracket is what closes first at small sizes. It needs roughly 30 mm for the bracket and the chips to read, and it is best in one dense ink on kraft and newsprint, or white on a dark board where the chips print as lights.

A worn Cooper-style slab reads as a park-service label rather than a modern outdoor brand, which is what a small gear maker wants on a bag. The heavy slabs hold at 30 mm, and one ink prints the patch and the bag in one order.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Patch 80 x 55 mm, word 20 mm with 5 mm edge margin and 3 mm die margin. Bag print 200 x 250 mm, word 60 mm, 15 mm margins. Card 85 x 55 mm, word 14 mm, 5 mm margins. Coaster 95 mm round, word 14 mm, 5 mm die margin.
Pre-production check
On a 200 x 250 mm bag the chips fill at 60 mm and the mark prints as a plain slab label. Raise the word to 80 mm or accept the flatter look, and check one bag on the production stock.
A worn slab reads as a printed label from an old brewery rather than a craft logo, which is what a taproom wants on its bottle. The chips hold at 24 mm on a label, and one ink prints the label and the coaster from one file.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Bottle label 90 x 70 mm, word 24 mm with 6 mm chip clearance, 5 mm margins. Coaster 95 mm square, word 14 mm, 5 mm die margin. Card 85 x 55 mm, word 14 mm, 5 mm margins.
Pre-production check
A 90 x 70 mm bottle label at 24 mm turns the chips into dirt and the label reads as a smudge on the shelf. Raise the label word to 32 mm or use the clean cut, and check one label on the bottle.
A worn slab gives a harvest event the look of a printed bill rather than a digital flyer, which is what a farm stand wants in season. The heavy stems hold at 120 mm on a poster, and one ink prints the poster and the crate cards in one order.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Poster A2, word 120 mm with 12 mm chip clearance, details 34 mm, 20 mm margins. Crate card 120 x 80 mm, word 26 mm, 8 mm margins. Price board 600 x 400 mm, word 90 mm, 25 mm margins.
Pre-production check
A 120 x 80 mm crate card at 26 mm puts a chipped serif against the die edge and the blade clips it. Keep the word 8 mm inside the die, and cut one card from the actual dieline.
