Transparency & FTC disclosure

How our paid links
& rankings work.

MakerFileHub is a discovery catalogue. We do not sell fonts, we do not host font files and we do not issue licences. Every outbound button on a profile or collection opens an external marketplace where the creator or retailer supplies the download, the invoice, the support thread and the licence terms. That separation is the reason this page exists: we want the commercial side of the site to be obvious before anyone clicks, not buried in a footer.

What is on the page right now

MakerFileHub uses paid affiliate links to the external marketplace. We may earn a commission if you complete a qualifying purchase or subscription through links marked Paid link. You pay the same price, and the retailer handles checkout, files, refunds and licence enforcement.

What a commission cannot buy

Rank inside a roundup is decided before any commercial status is checked. Our collections are ordered by how a face performs in the workflow the collection is about: letterform anatomy read from the creator preview, stroke behaviour at small sizes, whether alternates and swashes are reachable, whether counters survive welding, and how the face behaves against a companion. A font with a generous referral rate that loses its counters at a keychain scale still finishes behind a font that keeps them. No creator, agency or marketplace has ever been offered a paid position, a paid mention, or the removal of a watch-out line.

Where the evaluations come from

Almost everything visible on a profile is read from material we hold: the creator's own specimen artwork, the catalogue record for that font (name, designer, style family, tag list, alternates and PUA flag where the record has one), and the foundry portfolio the face belongs to. That is a real inspection, but it is an inspection of artwork and metadata — not a laboratory test of every file. Where a decision depends on your machine, your blade, your paper stock or your printer, the profile says so and sends you to the checks you can run yourself. One concrete example: we can see that a script's connectors overlap, which tells you to weld; we cannot tell you which welding tolerance your cutting software needs, because that answer lives in your test cut.

Preview artwork and creator rights

Preview images belong to the designers who made them and are reproduced as catalogue references with a credit line on every card. We do not redraw, recolour or composite another studio's artwork to make a comparison look better. If you are a creator and you want a preview swapped, credited differently or removed, write to us through the contact page and we will act on the request without asking you to prove anything beyond your connection to the work.

Prices, files and licence scope

Anything commercial is the retailer's to state and yours to confirm: current price, included formats, glyph coverage, whether a display or extended licence covers the print run you have in mind. Marketing artwork on a listing can lag behind the current offer, so treat the live listing as the only authority. If you are producing stationery for a client or selling goods at volume, read the licence tier before you set type, not after the first order ships.

Corrections

If a credit is wrong, a link is dead, or a watch-out line misdescribes a file we hold, tell us and we will fix it. Editorial changes are logged in the release that carries them. Start at Contact & corrections, or read how the catalogue is assembled.
