Hangtuah is a bold retro sign-painter brush script with underline swashes: a heavy loaded stroke, a firm slant, connected letters and thick underline swashes that run beneath the word and turn up at the end. The underlines are the design and they fix the block's width, and the brush edge is the finest element. It needs roughly 30 mm for the underline and the brush edge to read, and it is best in one dense ink on a sanded board, or a flat two-colour print on uncoated stock.
