Wide elegant serif with slashed counters and fine hairlines
Cardelo is a wide elegant serif in which the capitals open generously, the hairlines stay fine and two letters carry a slashed counter, so a single word reads as a modern wordmark rather than as a title.

Visual anatomy & craft review
The C curls a wide crescent, the A spreads a hairline apex, the R turns a fine leg, the D closes a wide bowl and the O is cut by a thin diagonal stroke that crosses its counter, all at a high contrast with fine serifs, while alternates and ligatures let the word be tightened. The slash is the character: it appears on selected letters only, which is why the sample sets one word in white across a dark sky. Because the strokes are fine, the face needs 40 pt upward and a coated stock, and the ligatures need a test before they are relied on in a long line. The storm clouds, the small caps beneath and the studio credit are presentation; the white display word is the face.

The slash gives a label one distinctive move, and the wide thin capitals hold a short name at 24 pt on a small coated label in one ink.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 55 by 80 mm label: set the house name at 24 pt with 2 percent tracking, set the scent in an 8 pt italic beneath, and keep 5 mm of border so the hairlines stay inside the die.
Pre-production check
A slashed counter printed at 24 pt can close up; check the label proof and keep the name at 26 pt or above.
The wide set suits a landscape photography cover, and the fine hairlines still hold against a dark sky at 90 pt in reverse printing.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 210 by 260 mm cover: set the title at 90 pt across the upper third, set the photographer line in a 10 pt caps sans beneath, and keep 25 mm of margin all round.
Pre-production check
Hairlines printed in reverse over a textured sky fill in; check the proof and keep the title on the smoothest band of the image.
The wide serif suits a contemporary ceremony, and the fine contrast keeps both names readable at 28 pt on a heavy cotton card.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 130 by 180 mm card: set both names at 28 pt on one line, set the date in an 8 pt caps serif 20 mm beneath, and keep 18 mm of margin so the wide bowls sit inside the trim.
Pre-production check
Wide bowls printed close to a fold crack on the crease; check the folded card and keep the names below the crease line.
