Chalkboard is a tall condensed solid marker face made for chalkboards and vinyl cuts: narrow upright stems with a dry marker edge, blunt ends, a level baseline and open counters that stay clean under dust. The solid cut weeds cleanly from vinyl, and the dry edge is the finest element. It needs roughly 20 mm for the dry edge and the condensed stem to read, and it is best as a one-colour vinyl cut, or one dense ink on a chalked board where the edge reads as texture.

Pre-production check
At 16 mm on a planner header the dry edge turns to grey against chalk dust and the word reads as a faded bar. Raise the header to 22 mm, and print one sheet before the class set.
Café identity, board and decal
A condensed marker face reads as a hand-written café board rather than a printed menu. The stems hold at 60 mm on a board, and one vinyl colour covers the decal and the board print.

A condensed marker face reads as a painted stall board rather than a printed advert, which is what an autumn stand wants on a fence. The stems hold at 90 mm on a board, and one ink prints the board, the cards and the crates in one order.
