Visual anatomy & craft review
Billbrown is a warm textured felt-pen handwritten script in a regular and an italic: a soft broad-tip stroke with visible fibre texture along the edges, connected letters, a light slant in the regular and a steeper one in the italic. The fibre edge is the texture and it fills when the face is reversed or printed small. It needs roughly 22 mm for the fibre edge and the join to read, and it is best in one warm ink on a smooth card, or a single dark colour on kraft where the texture reads as bleed.

A felt-pen script reads as a hand-written label rather than a designed logo, which is what a small maker wants on a box. The fibre edge holds at 24 mm, and one ink prints the box and the bag in one pass.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Box stamp 150 x 80 mm, word 40 mm with 8 mm fibre clearance, 10 mm margins. Bag print 200 x 250 mm, word 50 mm, 15 mm margins. Card 85 x 55 mm, word 14 mm, 5 mm margins.
Pre-production check
On unbleached kraft the fibre edge wicks into the paper and the 14 mm card word softens into a blur. Stamp on coated kraft or raise the card word to 20 mm, and check one bag on the production stock.
A felt-pen script reads as a note written in the kitchen rather than a printed acknowledgement. The soft stroke holds at 22 mm on a card, and one ink prints the card, the label and the tag in one order.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Card A6, greeting 22 mm with 8 mm fibre clearance, note 8/11 pt, 12 mm margins. Jar label 70 x 45 mm, word 12 mm, 4 mm die margin. Market tag 50 x 90 mm, word 12 mm with a 5 mm hole and 8 mm clear.
Pre-production check
A 70 x 45 mm jar label at 12 mm closes the fibre edge into a solid stroke on wet-strength paper and the word reads as a smear. Raise the label word to 16 mm, and check one labelled jar before the batch.
A felt-pen script reads as a teacher's own lettering rather than a purchased banner. The italic cut gives the display movement at 140 mm, and one ink prints the display and the certificates in one pass.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Display 1200 x 400 mm, letters 160 mm with 12 mm fibre clearance, 20 mm margins. Name card 105 x 75 mm, name 18 mm, 5 mm margins. Certificate A5 landscape, word 30 mm, 12 mm margins.
Pre-production check
At 18 mm on a name card the fibre texture turns to dirt and the name looks stained after handling. Raise the card word to 24 mm and laminate it, and make one card before the class set.
