Visual anatomy & craft review
Baseball Seam is a varsity block font whose solid octagonal capitals are cut with curved baseball-lace stitch channels, so a word reads as a stitched team mark rather than a plain athletic slab. The stitching is interior and structural, which means the face needs size for the seams to read as laces, and the octagonal silhouette gives it a ballpark feel. It needs roughly 28 mm for the stitches to hold, and it is best in white with a crimson seam highlight on navy or in one ink on a pale ground.

Stitched block capitals read as a school baseball side, which is what a PE department orders for a season. The octagonal forms hold at 70 mm on a shirt back, and the seams survive a heat transfer if the channels are wide enough.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Shirt back 300 x 100 mm, surname 70 mm, number 180 mm below on a 220 mm pitch. Sign 900 x 400 mm, word 160 mm, 60 mm margins. Programme A5, cover 40 mm, roster 8/11 pt.
Pre-production check
A heat transfer at 70 mm bridges the 1.5 mm stitch channel and the lace detail disappears into the fill. Keep channels at 2.5 mm on transfer artwork, and weed one name before the order.
Stitched blocks read as a ballpark birthday, which is what a sports-mad child asks for. The heavy forms cut cleanly at 50 mm, and the seam detail gives the topper its theme without a printed graphic.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Invite A6, word 40 mm, details 8/11 pt, 12 mm margins. Banner 900 x 300 mm, word 130 mm, 40 mm margins and 20 mm clear of each eyelet. Topper 130 x 110 mm, word 50 mm with an 8 mm slot and 10 mm clear.
Pre-production check
A 50 mm topper cuts the stitch channels into loose slivers that drop onto the cake. Keep the channels as print only and cut the outer silhouette, and cut one prototype before the batch.
Stitched varsity blocks read as a summer league identity, which is what a park competition orders in bulk. The octagonal caps hold at 380 mm in vinyl, and the seams stay legible on a plate at 12 mm.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Kit print 300 x 100 mm, surname 70 mm, number 130 mm. Banner 2400 x 800 mm, word 380 mm, 150 mm margins with eyelets every 500 mm. Plate 140 x 40 mm, number 12 mm with 3 mm engraving margin.
Pre-production check
An engraved plate cuts a 1 mm stitch channel into a groove that fills with polishing compound and reads as a scratch. Engrave the plain block style for plates, and inspect one before the awards.
