Visual anatomy & craft review
Bakery is a bouncy medium-weight farmhouse brush script with side tails: a loaded stroke with visible dry edges, joined letters, a rising baseline and long tails that flick off the first and last letters. The tails need side clearance and are the first thing trimmed, and the brush edge is the finest element. It needs roughly 24 mm for the tail and the brush edge to read, and it is best in one warm ink on kraft and cream, or a single dark colour on a pale board where the brush edge prints as texture.

Concrete hierarchy, scale and production guidance tailored to Bakery’s stroke geometry.
A farmhouse brush script reads as a hand-painted bakery board rather than a printed logo. The tails hold at 60 mm on a board, and one warm ink prints the board and the box in one order.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Board 600 x 900 mm, word 100 mm with 12 mm tail clearance, items 26 mm, 30 mm margins. Box stamp 150 x 80 mm, word 40 mm, 10 mm margins. Card 85 x 55 mm, word 16 mm, 5 mm margins.
Pre-production check
On an 85 x 55 mm card the tail runs into the word beside it and the name reads as one ribbon. Keep the card word at 24 mm, and check one card before the run.
A bouncy brush script gives a December card a written greeting rather than a printed one. The tails hold at 26 mm, and one warm ink prints the card, the tags and the labels in one pass.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Card 105 x 148 mm, greeting 26 mm with 12 mm tail clearance, message 8/11 pt, 14 mm margins. Tag 50 x 90 mm, word 20 mm, 5 mm hole with 12 mm clear. Jar label 70 x 45 mm, word 12 mm, 4 mm die margin.
Pre-production check
A 50 x 90 mm tag with the hole at 5 mm leaves the tail running into the punch. Shift the hole 12 mm clear or raise the word to 26 mm, and test one tag before the batch.
A brush script reads as a written note rather than a printed acknowledgement, which is what a maker wants in the bag. The tails hold at 22 mm, and one ink prints the card, the tag and the band in one pass.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Card A6, greeting 22 mm with 10 mm tail clearance, note 8/11 pt, 12 mm margins. Market tag 50 x 90 mm, word 20 mm, 5 mm hole with 12 mm clear. Wrap band 200 x 40 mm, word 14 mm, 6 mm margins.
Pre-production check
On a 200 x 40 mm band the tail doubles at the fold and reads as a knot. Keep the band to one word in the plain cut, and wrap one band before the order.
