Sturdy stroke walls and open counters weed cleanly on adhesive vinyl, HTV apparel film, and cut cardstock.
Visual anatomy & craft review
Mavi is a tall condensed display built from vertical pinstripes: each stem is a set of parallel fine lines running the full height, the counters stay open and the outline is a thin rule at the silhouette. The pinstripes make the face read as an optical texture at distance and as thin lines close up, so the spray count matters. It needs roughly 44 mm for the stripes to stay separate, and it is best in one deep ink on white, or white on a dark ground where the stripes read as light threads.

A pinstripe display reads as a tailored fabric rather than a printed masthead, which is what a fashion issue wants at the top of the cover. The fine stripes hold at 96 pt, and one dark ink on white keeps every line separate where a tinted ground would merge them.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Cover 210 x 297 mm, masthead 96 pt with 14 mm stripe clearance, cover lines 11/15 pt, 18 mm margins. Feature opener 60 pt, standfirst 11/15 pt. Contents head 30 pt.
Pre-production check
At 60 pt on the opener the 0.5 mm stripes fill and the title prints as a solid dark block. Keep pinstripe use at 80 pt and above, and proof one cover at 1:1 with the printer before the run.
A pinstripe display reads as a length of suiting rather than a modern logo, which is what a bespoke tailor wants on a door plate. The stripes give the name texture at 40 mm, and one ink prints the plate and the garment label from one file.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Door plate 300 x 100 mm, word 40 mm with 8 mm stripe clearance, 12 mm margins. Garment label 50 x 25 mm, word 9 mm, 2 mm margin. Card 85 x 55 mm, word 16 mm, 5 mm margins.
Pre-production check
A 50 x 25 mm garment label at 9 mm merges the pinstripes into a grey block and the brand reads as a smudge on the seam. Use a plain woven label and keep the face for the plate, then check one sewn label before the run.
A pinstripe display gives a winter dinner the formality of a tailored suit, which is what a black-tie table wants. The stripes hold at 30 pt on a menu header, and one deep ink on cream prints the invitation, the menu and the cards as a suite.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Invitation 130 x 180 mm, names 30 pt with 10 mm stripe clearance, details 9/13 pt, 15 mm margins. Menu 120 x 210 mm, header 20 pt, courses 9/12 pt. Table card 90 x 50 mm, name 12 pt, 4 mm margins.
Pre-production check
At 12 pt on a table card the stripes close and the name prints as a dark bar that greys at the table. Raise table cards to 18 pt or use the solid cut, and proof one card before the set.
