Sturdy stroke walls and open counters weed cleanly on adhesive vinyl, HTV apparel film, and cut cardstock.
Visual anatomy & craft review
Hermano is a clean condensed grotesk with straight-sided stems, squared shoulders and a tight but open aperture, drawn from heritage coffeehouse signage and shipped as OTF and TTF with multilingual support. The straight sides pack a long shop name into a narrow fascia, and the squared shoulders hold at small sizes on packaging. It needs roughly 22 mm for the aperture and the squared shoulder to read, and it is best in one dark ink on kraft and cream, or white on a black fascia.

A straight-sided heritage grotesk reads as painted signage rather than a designed logo, which is what a coffeehouse wants above its door. The condensed stems fit a long name on a narrow fascia at 120 mm, and one ink covers the bag stamp and the cup print without a second plate.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Fascia 2400 x 400 mm, word 180 mm with 30 mm edge clearance. Bag stamp 90 x 60 mm, word 18 mm, 6 mm margins. Cup print 70 x 50 mm, word 14 mm, 5 mm margins.
Pre-production check
On a 70 mm cup panel at 14 mm the squared shoulder fills and the word prints as a solid condensed bar. Raise cup type to 18 mm, and check one printed cup before the order.
A heritage grotesk gives a small shop's thank-you a quiet, businesslike voice rather than a decorative one. The straight sides set a clean line at 9 pt on a loyalty card, and the same artwork prints the card back and the receipt header from a single file.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Card A6, greeting 16 mm, note 9/12 pt, 12 mm margins. Loyalty card 85 x 55 mm, header 9 pt, rules 0.5 mm, 5 mm margins. Receipt header 60 mm wide, word 9 mm.
Pre-production check
At 7 pt on a thermal receipt the condensed aperture closes and the shop name prints as a grey bar with no counters. Set the receipt header at 9 mm and test one thermal print before the roll order.
A condensed heritage grotesk reads as a chalked board rather than a printed menu, which is what a coffeehouse wants in autumn when the board changes weekly. The squared shoulders stay legible at 20 mm in a dim room, and one ink prints the decal and the sleeve from the same separation.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Menu board 900 x 1200 mm, header 90 mm, items 30 mm, prices 30 mm, 40 mm margins. Window decal 600 x 200 mm, word 90 mm, 20 mm edge clearance. Sleeve 240 x 90 mm, word 24 mm, 12 mm from the seam.
Pre-production check
A slip-in sleeve printed across the taper doubles the word at the seam and the name reads as a shadow. Keep the word inside the flat 60 mm centre band, and wrap one cup before the batch.
