Visual anatomy & craft review
Jp Sporty Stacked is a dual-case stacked sport sans with a sliced echo cut: heavy squared letters with a small notch at the joints, a solid version and a matching version where the lower half of each stroke is sliced into a striped echo. The pair lets a word stack in two colours, and the slices close first when the face shrinks. It needs roughly 26 mm for the slice and the notch to read, and it is best in two flat inks on jersey or vinyl, or one ink plus a knocked-out slice on a dark ground.

A stacked sport sans turns a match report into a printed team sheet rather than a styled headline. The solid cut carries the header at 44 pt, and the sliced echo sets the roster as a second voice in the same family.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Header 44 pt with 8 mm slice clearance, body 9/13 pt in two columns of 82 mm, 18 mm margins. Roster panel 90 mm wide, entries 9/11 pt. Caption 8/11 pt.
Pre-production check
At 8 pt in the caption the slices merge into a grey band and the names read as a striped block. Use the solid cut for small text and keep the echo at 36 pt and above, then proof one page at 1:1.
A stacked sport sans reads as a jersey mark rather than a corporate logo, which is what a club shop wants on a shirt. The solid cut holds at 90 mm on a back print, and the sliced echo repeats the name on the sleeve in a second ink.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Shirt back 300 x 400 mm, solid 90 mm with 12 mm slice clearance, 20 mm margins. Sleeve print 80 x 40 mm, echo 20 mm, 5 mm margins. Card 85 x 55 mm, solid 20 mm, 5 mm margins.
Pre-production check
On an 85 x 55 mm card the notch closes and the name reads as a plain block. Raise the card word to 26 mm, and check one card before the run.
A stacked sport sans reads as a championship banner rather than a printed notice, which is what a school team wants in the gym. The solid cut holds at 150 mm across a banner, and the echo sets the year below at 40 mm in the same order.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Banner 2000 x 600 mm, solid 180 mm with 15 mm slice clearance, year echo 40 mm, 40 mm safe edge. Patch 90 x 60 mm, word 26 mm, 4 mm edge margin. Certificate A5 landscape, word 30 mm, 12 mm margins.
Pre-production check
An embroidered patch at 26 mm merges the slices into a solid block. Keep patch lettering at 34 mm or above, and approve one sample before the order.
