Visual anatomy & craft review
Worry Line is an ultra-thin architectural pen print in tall narrow capitals with tiny serif ticks, drawn as though ruled against a set square so the letters keep a draftsperson's discipline. The stroke is a single hairline, which means it needs about 14 mm before it survives print on textured stock, and it is at its best on smooth papers where the line stays continuous. It reads as a note in a sketchbook rather than a display face, so it suits headings, envelopes and captions, and it should never be set small on absorbent paper.

Hairline ruling reads as a drafting hand, which is the visual language of a design student's notebook. Tall narrow caps fit a column header without taking a second line.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Journal header 8 mm cap-height on a 5 mm dot grid, 15 mm margins. Zine 148 x 210 mm, header 16 pt, body 9/13 pt in a plain serif. Note sheet A5, heading 10 mm, ruled area 7 mm pitch.
Pre-production check
Dot-grid notebooks are printed on 100 gsm and a hairline header drawn or printed at 0.2 mm bleeds into the dots. Increase to a 0.25 mm stroke, and check one page against the grid at reading distance.
A single hairline plots from a pen in one pass, which is why this face suits machine-addressed envelopes where a serif would need multiple strokes. Narrow capitals hold a long address inside the envelope width.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Envelope 220 x 110 mm, address block 9 mm caps on a 6 mm baseline, 20 mm from the left trim. Place card 90 x 50 mm, name 8 mm. Invitation 120 x 180 mm, names 14 mm, details 8/12 pt.
Pre-production check
Pen plotters skip on coated envelopes and leave broken stems. Test the pen on the actual envelope stock at the slowest speed, and if the line breaks, switch to an uncoated envelope rather than thickening the face.
Rational hairlines keep a minimalist wedding suite calm, and the narrow caps let a long dish name sit on one line. The face carries structure without ornament, which is what a pared-back venue asks for.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Menu 120 x 210 mm, headings 6 mm caps, dishes 9/13 pt, 18 mm margins. Seating chart 600 x 400 mm, table names 12 mm, guests 8 pt on a 6 mm row. Service card A5, headings 5 mm caps, text 9/12 pt.
Pre-production check
Guests read a seating chart standing at an angle in low light, and a hairline at 8 pt disappears. Set guest names in a slightly heavier companion and keep the hairline for the table headings only.
