Condensed modern vintage sans
Vintage Graduation is a condensed sans in near-black on a pale ground, set over a graduation cap: tall narrow caps with flat terminals, a high waist, closed counters and tight spacing, arranged on two lines with a tracked label above and beneath in the same face.

Sturdy stroke walls and open counters weed cleanly on adhesive vinyl, HTV apparel film, and cut cardstock.
Visual anatomy & craft review
The two words are stacked and the drawing is a condensed grotesque: the stems are tall, the terminals are flat, and the counters are narrow, which lets a long word fill a plate while keeping its height. The tight spacing makes the block read as a single object, and the small tracked labels above and beneath are set in the same condensed construction, which shows the face at two sizes. Because the counters are narrow, the face works at display sizes, and the specimen keeps the ground pale so the letters read as ink rather than as a shape. The graduation cap behind the type is a soft photographic element and belongs to the styling, not to the letterforms.

Concrete hierarchy, scale and production guidance tailored to Vintage Graduation’s stroke geometry.
A condensed vintage sans fits a long institution name on one line, which matters for a graduation announcement where the full official name has to appear.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
A5 card: the institution at 18 pt, the graduate at 24 pt, and the date at 9 pt caps. Keep 20 mm margins and print one ink on a cream card so the flat terminals stay crisp.
Pre-production check
Check the 18 pt institution, where narrow counters can fill on uncoated card; keep them above 1 mm. Confirm the 9 pt date reads at arm's length and that the name fits without wrapping.
A condensed sans gives an annual a period, print-led look on the cover, and the tall letters hold a long title across a standard cover width in a single line.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Set the title at 100 mm cap height across 210 mm, the subtitle in a 14 pt condensed face, and the year at 9 pt. Print two colours on a matte stock and keep the type in the upper half.
Pre-production check
Check the title at thumbnail size, where the closed counters can clot; open the spacing slightly. Confirm the 9 pt year survives lamination and that the title clears the trim by 10 mm.
A condensed sans reads as institutional signage, and the tall letters fit a long department name on a narrow door plate.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Fabricate a 900 by 220 mm plate: the department at 90 mm cap height, the floor in a 24 mm condensed face, and a 4 mm rule. Keep 25 mm margins and specify a matte finish.
Pre-production check
Check the plate at 90 mm, where a closed counter can read as a blot; keep the aperture open enough to identify the letter. Confirm the 24 mm floor reads at four metres and that the rule clears the fixings.
