Fine grain and micro-texture excel in 300 DPI print, sublimation, and screen print rather than small vinyl weeding.
Visual anatomy & craft review
Typewriter Rustic is a chunky hand-stamped typewriter slab with wide soft-inked serifs and gently swollen stems, so a word reads as stamped onto a paper label rather than typeset. The ink bleed is baked into the contour, which means the face looks right at 14 pt and softens past a headline, and the even weight prints in one colour. It needs roughly 14 pt for the bleed edge to read, and it is best in burnt sienna on greige or in one dark ink on kraft.

Concrete hierarchy, scale and production guidance tailored to Typewriter Rustic’s stroke geometry.
Stamped typewriter slabs read as a label typed and stuck on by hand, which is what a small preserves or soap maker sells. The soft ink edge gives the label age in one colour, and the wide serifs hold a long ingredient list at 8 pt.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Label 70 x 95 mm, name 16 pt, ingredients 8/11 pt, 5 mm top arc and 4 mm die margin. Carton 200 x 150 x 80 mm, word 40 mm on the lid, 20 mm margins. Sticker 60 mm round, word 10 mm, 3 mm die margin.
Pre-production check
An 8 pt ingredient list on a curved jar label fills its counters and becomes unreadable. Keep the list at 9 pt on a flat label panel, and check one applied label on a filled jar.
Typewriter stamping reads as a note written on a machine rather than a printed card, which is what a hostess thank-you wants. The soft edge holds at 9 pt on cream stock, and the face prints in one ink with no registration worry.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Card 148 x 105 mm, greeting 16 pt, message 9/13 pt, 12 mm margins. Note 105 x 148 mm, greeting 18 pt, message 9/13 pt. Tag 50 x 90 mm, word 10 mm with a 5 mm hole and 6 mm clear card.
Pre-production check
A kraft tag at 10 mm lets the ink edge wick into the paper and the name spreads. Use a smoother tag stock or print the name at 12 mm, and check one strung tag before the batch.
Rustic typewriter slabs read as a recipe typed for a farm kitchen, which is what an autumn market hands out. The face carries a long method at 9 pt on a card, and the soft edge suits kraft printing without an ornament.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Label 70 x 95 mm, name 16 pt, date 8 pt, 4 mm die margin. Card 105 x 148 mm, heading 14 pt, text 9/13 pt, 10 mm margins. Recipe sheet A4, title 24 pt, steps 9.5/14 pt, 20 mm margins.
Pre-production check
A 9.5 pt typewriter face in a full-width A4 measure runs to 110 characters a line and the recipe is hard to follow. Set steps in a 90 mm column, and check one printed sheet before the market.
