Sturdy stroke walls and open counters weed cleanly on adhesive vinyl, HTV apparel film, and cut cardstock.
Visual anatomy & craft review
Maya is a razor-spurred esports display: slanted squared caps, a heavy even stroke, and sharp blade spurs that flash off the corners of the A, M, K and X. The lean drives each word forward and the spurs break the silhouette, so a word box widens at the ends. It needs roughly 30 mm for the spur and the slant to read, and it is best in one acid or cool ink on black, or black on a pale technical ground where the spur tips stay sharp.

Concrete hierarchy, scale and production guidance tailored to Maya’s stroke geometry.
A razor-spurred slanted display reads as a team overlay rather than a magazine headline, which is what a competitive-gaming feature wants. The lean gives the title speed at 72 pt, and the square caps align to the stat grid underneath.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Opener 210 x 297 mm, title 72 pt with 8 mm spur clearance, standfirst 11/15 pt, stat blocks 60 mm wide, 18 mm margins. Cover flash 90 x 60 mm, word 40 pt, 6 mm margins.
Pre-production check
At 40 pt on the cover flash the spur merges into the corner and the word reads as a plain slanted block. Keep spurs at 50 pt and above, and proof one spread at 1:1.
A spurred esports display is the lettering a team already streams under, so an identity in it reads as the team rather than a logo. The heavy slant holds at 60 mm across a chest, and the square caps stay legible in a small lower-third on a phone screen.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Jersey front 300 x 250 mm, word 60 mm with 8 mm spur clearance, 20 mm margins. Lower-third 600 x 80 mm, word 30 mm, 8 mm margins. Cap print 70 mm wide, word 20 mm, 5 mm margin.
Pre-production check
On a 70 mm cap the embroidered spur frays into the twill and the mark reads as damaged. Use a flat woven patch without spurs, and approve one embroidered sample before the order.
A sharp spurred display reads as a warning placard rather than a pumpkin, which is the register for a science-fiction fright night. The slant holds at 130 mm across a poster, and one acid ink on black prints the poster, the ticket and the hanger in a single pass.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Poster A2, word 130 mm with 12 mm spur clearance, times 36 mm, 20 mm margins. Ticket 100 x 50 mm, word 14 mm, 4 mm perforation. Door hanger 100 x 200 mm, word 20 mm with a 30 mm hanger cut.
Pre-production check
A 100 x 50 mm ticket at 14 mm closes the angled counters and the word reads as a solid shard. Raise the ticket to 18 mm or use the plain cut, and check one ticket before the batch.
