Visual anatomy & craft review
Cybernetic is a two-style condensed slanted Y2K sans with clipped futuristic corners, offered as a hairline outline and a heavy solid that are designed to stack, so a title can be layered as a wireframe behind a filled word. The slant fixes the direction and the outline needs a dark ground to stay open. It needs roughly 34 mm for the hairline to read, and it is best in white and iridescent on black or two flat inks on a pale ground.

A stacked outline and solid read as a layered interface, which is what a technology title puts on a cover. The two styles give the masthead depth in one artwork, and the clipped corners keep it in period.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Cover 210 x 297 mm, solid title 84 pt over outline 84 pt offset 3 mm, cover lines 9/12 pt, 18 mm margins and 10 mm trim. Opener 420 x 297 mm, headline 120 mm, body 9/13 pt. Poster A2, word 280 mm, details 22/28 pt, 30 mm margins.
Pre-production check
The offset between outline and solid needs 3 mm at 84 pt, and a press that gains ink closes it to nothing at 200 mm. Keep the offset at 4 mm on large formats, and check one proof at 1:1.
Clipped Y2K sans reads as a device interface, which is what a hardware brand prints on a carton. The solid style holds at 44 mm on a lid in one ink, and the outline gives a sticker a wireframe look on a dark ground.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Carton 200 x 150 x 80 mm, word 44 mm on the lid, 25 mm margins. Sticker 90 x 60 mm, word 18 mm, 3 mm die margin. Lanyard 20 x 400 mm, word 10 mm on a 40 mm pitch.
Pre-production check
A lanyard at 10 mm collapses the hairline outline into a dotted line and the word smears in the weave. Use the solid style for lanyards, and check one printed strap before the event.
Condensed Y2K caps read as a build weekend, which is what a winter hackathon prints on a stage banner. The solid style stays legible across a hall, and the outline version suits a dark LED screen behind the stage.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Banner 3000 x 800 mm, word 420 mm, 200 mm margins with eyelets every 600 mm and 60 mm clear. Screen 1920 x 1080, word 420 px, safe area 80 percent. Plate 140 x 40 mm, word 10 mm with 3 mm engraving margin.
Pre-production check
An LED wall at low pixel pitch drops the 0.5 mm outline and the wireframe layer disappears entirely. Send the solid style for screens, and check the title on the actual wall before the opening.
