Visual anatomy & craft review
Feya is a three-dimensional embossed Baroque ornamental face built from gold acanthus filigree: each stem is a bundle of curling leaves with a raised edge, a deep cast shadow and a warm metallic gradient that reads as gilded carving. The leaf curls are the design and they silt into a mush when the face is reduced or printed small. It needs roughly 40 mm for the leaf curl and the emboss to read, and it only works as an RGB or four-colour print on coated stock with a varnish, or a flat two-colour conversion where the curls are redrawn as lines.

A gilded filigree face turns a luxury feature into a printed Baroque cover. The leaf curls hold at 84 pt on a coated cover with a spot varnish, and the cast shadow gives depth without an image.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Cover 210 x 297 mm, title 84 pt with 14 mm curl clearance, cover lines 10/14 pt over two columns of 82 mm, 18 mm margins and a 12 mm head. Opener 60 pt. Part title 40 pt.
Pre-production check
At 40 pt on the part title the leaf curls silt into a gold mush and the title reads as a smear. Keep the face at 60 pt and above with a varnish, and proof one sheet at 1:1.
A gilded filigree face reads as a Baroque gift pack rather than a printed carton, which is what a seasonal release wants on a shelf. The curls hold at 40 mm on a box, and a flat two-colour conversion prints the box and the tags as one set.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Box print 220 x 140 mm, word 46 mm with 10 mm curl clearance, 15 mm margins. Tag 50 x 90 mm, word 14 mm with a 5 mm hole and 10 mm clear. Shelf card 148 x 105 mm, word 28 mm, 8 mm margins.
Pre-production check
A 50 x 90 mm tag at 14 mm turns the filigree into a gold smudge. Use the plain serif on tags, keep the filigree at 34 mm and above, and print one tag before the batch.
A gilded face gives a formal wedding an invitation that reads as gilded carving rather than a plate. The curls hold at 36 mm on an invitation, and a spot varnish keeps the emboss visible under raking light.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Invitation 130 x 180 mm, names 36 mm with 12 mm curl clearance, details 9/13 pt, 18 mm margins. Menu 120 x 210 mm, header 26 mm, courses 9/12 pt. Seal 40 mm round, monogram 22 mm, 3 mm die margin.
Pre-production check
A 40 mm seal at a 22 mm monogram fills the curls into a solid gold disc. Use the initials alone on seals, and pour one seal before the batch.
