Visual anatomy & craft review
Eva Celtic is a Celtic display serif embellished with shamrock forms: heavy curved stems, uncial-style bowls, a shamrock cut into some counters and a thin interlaced knotwork band along the baseline. The knotwork is the finest element and closes first, and the shamrock counters fill before the stroke thins. It needs roughly 34 mm for the knotwork and the shamrock to read, and it is best in one green ink on cream, or a single dark ink on a pale ground where the interlacing prints as a cut line.

Concrete hierarchy, scale and production guidance tailored to Eva Celtic’s stroke geometry.
A shamrock-embellished Celtic serif is the holiday itself, so a card needs no separate graphic. The knotwork holds at 30 mm, and one green ink on cream prints the card and the sign in one order.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Card A6, word 30 mm with 10 mm knot clearance, note 8/11 pt, 12 mm margins. Pub sign 900 x 400 mm, word 120 mm, 25 mm margins. Banner 1200 x 400 mm, word 140 mm, 25 mm safe edge.
Pre-production check
On a 900 x 400 mm sign the knotwork band runs past the printed area and gets trimmed. Keep the word inside a 25 mm margin, and inspect one sign in daylight before hanging.
A Celtic display serif reads as a carved pub sign rather than a modern logo, which is what the trade wants on a coaster. The knotwork holds at 26 mm on a card, and one ink prints the card and the coasters in one order.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Card 85 x 55 mm, word 26 mm with 8 mm knot clearance, details 7/9 pt, 5 mm margins. Coaster 95 mm square, word 14 mm, 5 mm die margin. Sign 900 x 400 mm, word 120 mm, 25 mm margins.
Pre-production check
A 95 mm coaster at 14 mm closes the interlacing into a solid bar and the name reads as a green blob. Raise the coaster word to 20 mm, and cut one coaster before the batch.
A Celtic display serif gives a heritage feature a carved header rather than a styled headline. The shamrock counters hold at 64 pt on an uncoated page, and one ink keeps the knotwork crisp.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Opener 210 x 297 mm, title 64 pt with 10 mm knot clearance, standfirst 11/15 pt, body 9/13 pt in two columns of 82 mm, 18 mm margins and a 12 mm head. Section head 24 pt, 10 mm above. Pull quote 40 pt with 8 mm above and 8 mm below.
Pre-production check
At 24 pt on the section head the shamrock counter fills and the head reads as a solid block. Keep the face at 40 pt and above, and proof one spread at 1:1.
