Visual anatomy & craft review
Boho is a seven-line concentric display sans drawn from nineteen-seventies disco and roller-rink lettering: each stem is a stack of seven parallel rules with even gaps, the corners turn on a tight radius and the bowls nest inside one another. The rule count means the gaps are the whole design, and they close first when the face shrinks or is overprinted. It needs roughly 44 mm for the seven rules to stay separate, and it is best in one metallic or bright ink on a dark ground, or black on white where the gaps stay largest.

Concrete hierarchy, scale and production guidance tailored to Boho’s stroke geometry.
A seven-line concentric display reads as a rink sign rather than a modern masthead, which is what an issue about nightlife or seventies design wants. The nested rules give the title a lit, layered look at 80 pt, and a flat ink on white keeps all seven gaps visible without shading.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Cover 210 x 297 mm, title 80 pt with 12 mm rule clearance, cover lines 10/14 pt, 18 mm margins. Feature opener 60 pt. Section band 210 x 60 mm, word 44 pt.
Pre-production check
At 44 pt on the section band the 0.8 mm gaps fill and the word prints as a solid slab with white dust. Keep bands at 56 pt and above, and proof one cover at 1:1 before the run.
A seven-line display is the lettering a roller rink already has on its wall, so an identity in it reads as the venue's own. The nested rules catch light across a sign panel at 90 mm, and one colour prints the panel and the sticker without a second plate.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Sign panel 1200 x 400 mm, word 120 mm with 15 mm rule clearance, 30 mm margins. Skate sticker 100 x 60 mm, word 30 mm, 5 mm die margin. Card 85 x 55 mm, word 16 mm, 5 mm margins.
Pre-production check
A 100 x 60 mm skate sticker at 30 mm leaves the seven rules at 0.4 mm each, and the blade weeding pulls two of them out. Use the three-rule variant on stickers or raise the word to 40 mm, and weed one sheet before the batch.
A concentric disco display suits a summer outdoor disco because the rules read as light strips at night. The nested lines hold at 150 mm on a poster, and one bright ink on a dark ground prints the poster, the menu and the wristband in a single pass.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Poster A2, word 150 mm with 18 mm rule clearance, details 40 mm, 20 mm margins. Menu 150 x 300 mm, header 44 mm, drinks 12 mm. Wristband 250 x 25 mm, word 8 mm, 3 mm margins.
Pre-production check
On a 250 x 25 mm wristband the seven rules collapse into three and the word reads as a grey stripe on the wrist. Use a single-line cut for the band and keep the display for the poster, then check one wristband printed before the night.
