Visual anatomy & craft review
Boho Retro is a swirled nineteen-seventies psychedelic bubble script-display: fat rounded letters that swell at the waist, joins drawn as spirals and terminals that curl back into the letter like smoke. It is a poster face, so it wants size, two flat inks and a pale ground rather than a busy photograph. The spirals are the finest element and they fill into solid blobs as soon as the face is reduced. It needs roughly 44 mm for the spiral and the swell to read, and it is best two warm flat inks on a light stock.

A swirled seventies display reads as a hand-pulled summer poster rather than a modern flyer. The spirals hold at 120 mm on a poster, and two flat inks print the poster and the banner in one order.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Poster A2, word 120 mm with 16 mm spiral clearance, details 36 mm, 20 mm margins. Wristband 250 x 25 mm, word 8 mm, 4 mm safe edge. Banner 1200 x 400 mm, word 160 mm, 25 mm safe edge.
Pre-production check
At 8 mm on a wristband the spirals close into blobs and the word prints as a bar. Keep the word off the band and use a flat mark, and check one band before the print.
A psychedelic bubble script announces a retro birthday the way a poster does. The spirals hold at 44 mm on a topper, and two inks print the invite and the wraps as one set.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Invite A6, word 44 mm with 12 mm spiral clearance, details 8/11 pt, 12 mm margins. Topper 130 x 110 mm, word 48 mm with a 6 mm stick slot and 12 mm clear. Cup wrap 200 x 90 mm, word 20 mm, 12 mm from the rim.
Pre-production check
A 130 mm vinyl topper at 48 mm has spirals that weld shut during weeding and the word fills in. Keep the spiral gap at 3 mm or above, and weed one topper before the party.
A groovy bubble script gives a record shop a window mark that looks printed in the period rather than revived. The spirals hold at 60 mm on a decal, and two flat inks print the decal and the stickers in one order.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Decal 400 x 200 mm, word 60 mm with 12 mm spiral clearance, 25 mm margins. Sticker 90 x 60 mm, word 24 mm, 5 mm die margin. Card 85 x 55 mm, word 20 mm, 5 mm margins.
Pre-production check
On a 90 x 60 mm sticker at 24 mm the spirals fill and the mark prints as a blob. Raise the sticker to 34 mm, and check one sheet before the run.
