Tall varsity slabs with an inline outline, paired with a sweeping script and a tail

Visual anatomy & craft review
The caps half is nested: a red face with a white inline and a dark edge, every letter narrow and tall, the B and the R carrying small bowls high on long stems and the Y ending in a sharp fork. That nesting is what gives the word its vintage athletic look at a distance. The script half is a bold slanted hand with rounded tails, set across the middle of the caps so the two halves overlap, and it finishes with a broad sport tail that sweeps out to the right beneath both words. The pairing works because the caps supply height and the script supplies motion. The navy ground, the stars, the ESTD and year markers and the small credits are presentation; the duo is the two words.

Concrete hierarchy, scale and production guidance tailored to Broklyn Varsity’s stroke geometry.
The tall nested caps read across a crowd and the sport tail gives a jacket back the shape of a team patch, while the script carries the team name at a smaller size.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Set the caps at 120 mm on the back panel, set the script at 60 mm across the middle, and keep 30 mm between the script and the shoulder seam so the tail stays on the panel.
Pre-production check
Chenille patches need a minimum stroke for the inline; check the artwork at full size and drop the inline if it falls under 3 mm.
The nested outline gives a wall banner depth without a second colour plate, and the tall caps fill a long horizontal banner with few letters.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Set the caps at 150 mm tall across a 3 m banner, keep the season in the script at 70 mm, and hold 100 mm of margin at each end so the sport tail is fully inside the hem.
Pre-production check
Vinyl on a wall grabs dust at the inline; check the finish once applied and keep the inline open by at least 4 mm at full size.
The vintage athletic construction carries a period tone on a woven patch, and the script lets a short brand line sit inside the caps without extra space.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Set the caps at 35 mm on a 70 mm patch, set the script at 18 mm across the middle, and keep 6 mm from the stitched border so the tail is not caught by the edge stitch.
Pre-production check
Woven patches soften an inline to a dotted line; check a woven sample and simplify the inline rather than thickening the caps.
