Visual anatomy & craft review
Bakey is a heavy 1960s bakery and packaging script: fat brush-drawn letters with a high x-height, joins that thicken through the middle of a word and a set of looped ascenders that keep the line from looking mechanical. It is the lettering of a bakery bag and a window board rather than a modern logo, so it works best large and in one warm ink. The loops are the finest element and they close into a solid block as soon as the face is reduced. It needs roughly 30 mm for the stroke and the loop to read, and it is best on uncoated kraft or white board.

A heavy packaging script reads as a hand-painted shop sign rather than a printed brand. The loops hold at 60 mm on a board, and one warm ink prints the bag, the board and the label in one order.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Bag panel 200 x 120 mm, word 60 mm with 12 mm loop clearance, 10 mm margins. Window board 900 x 600 mm, word 140 mm, 30 mm margins. Label 90 x 60 mm, word 22 mm, 5 mm die margin and 4 mm clear of the cut.
Pre-production check
On a 90 x 60 mm label at 22 mm the loops merge into a solid block and the name reads as a smear. Raise the label word to 30 mm, and print one label before the order.
A fat bakery script announces a party the way a shop window would, with weight rather than decoration. The stroke holds at 44 mm on a topper, and one vinyl colour covers the topper and the invite print.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Invite A6, word 40 mm with 10 mm loop clearance, details 8/11 pt, 12 mm margins. Topper 130 x 110 mm, word 48 mm with a 6 mm stick slot and 12 mm clear. Cup wrap 200 x 90 mm, word 20 mm, 12 mm from the rim.
Pre-production check
A 200 x 90 mm wrap printed across the cup taper squeezes the joins and the word reads as a band. Keep the word inside the flat 60 mm centre band, and wrap one cup before the party.
A heavy script signs a dessert table the way a bakery would sign a window, which suits a relaxed wedding. The loops hold at 30 mm on a card, and one ink prints the card and the tags in one pass.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Table card 148 x 105 mm, word 30 mm with 10 mm loop clearance, items 9/12 pt, 12 mm margins. Menu 120 x 210 mm, head 20 mm, courses 9/12 pt. Favour tag 50 x 90 mm, word 16 mm, 3 mm hole clearance and 4 mm to the trim.
Pre-production check
At 16 mm on a 50 x 90 mm tag the loops close and the tag reads as a bar. Raise the tag word to 22 mm, and punch one tag before the batch.
