Fine grain and micro-texture excel in 300 DPI print, sublimation, and screen print rather than small vinyl weeding.
Visual anatomy & craft review
Warmstreak is a dusty chalkboard print sans: a slightly uneven even stroke, soft rounded terminals, a small grain of chalk dust along the edges and a baseline that stays level so a board reads as written in one pass. The dust is the texture and it disappears when the face is reversed or printed small. It needs roughly 24 mm for the dust and the terminal to read, and it is best as white or a single bright ink on a dark board, or the reverse printed as white ink on black card.

A chalkboard sans is the lettering already on a classroom board, so a printed display in it looks written by the teacher. The dust holds at 80 mm on a wall, and one white ink prints the display and the timetable in one pass.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Display 900 x 600 mm, header 90 mm with 10 mm dust clearance, names 40 mm, 30 mm margins. Timetable 600 x 400 mm, header 40 mm, cells 20 mm. Door sign 200 x 250 mm, word 40 mm, 15 mm margins.
Pre-production check
Printed white on black card at 20 mm the chalk dust fills in and the letters read as solid blocks. Keep the dust to 60 mm and above, and print one door sign before the class set.
A dusty chalk sans reads as a board written that morning, which is what a café wants when the menu changes weekly. The uneven stroke holds at 40 mm behind glass, and one white ink prints the board and the cups in one order.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Menu board 900 x 1200 mm, header 100 mm, items 40 mm, prices 34 mm, 40 mm margins. Cup print 70 x 50 mm, word 16 mm, 5 mm margins. Window decal 600 x 200 mm, word 80 mm, 20 mm edge clearance.
Pre-production check
A 70 x 50 mm cup panel at 16 mm turns the dust into dirt and the name looks stained. Raise cup type to 22 mm, and check one printed cup before the order.
A chalk sans reads as a quick note on a board rather than a printed acknowledgement, which is what a market stall wants in the bag. The level baseline holds at 20 mm on a card, and one ink prints the card, the label and the tag in one pass.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Card A6, greeting 20 mm with 8 mm dust clearance, note 8/11 pt, 12 mm margins. Jar label 70 x 45 mm, word 12 mm, 4 mm die margin. Market tag 50 x 90 mm, word 12 mm with a 5 mm hole and 8 mm clear.
Pre-production check
A 70 x 45 mm jar label at 12 mm closes the dust into a dirty contour and the word reads as a stain on wet-strength paper. Raise the label word to 16 mm, and check one labelled jar before the batch.
