Visual anatomy & craft review
Active Marker is a slanted chisel-tip whiteboard and chalkboard marker sans: even strokes with a visible chisel angle, blunt ends that read as a marker turned in the hand, a firm slant and open counters that stay clean on a board. The chisel angle is the design and it flattens when the face is reduced. It needs roughly 20 mm for the chisel angle and the blunt end to read, and it is best in one dry-erase or chalk ink on a board, or a single dense ink on uncoated stock where the chisel edge prints as a step.

Concrete hierarchy, scale and production guidance tailored to Active Marker’s stroke geometry.
A chisel marker sans reads as a hand-written studio board rather than a printed sign. The chisel angle holds at 60 mm on a board, and one ink prints the board and the cards in one order.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Board 900 x 600 mm, word 120 mm with 10 mm edge clearance, items 26 mm, 25 mm margins. Card 85 x 55 mm, word 18 mm, 5 mm margins. Door plate 300 x 80 mm, word 40 mm, 10 mm margins.
Pre-production check
A 300 x 80 mm plate at 40 mm flattens the chisel angle and the mark reads as a plain bar. Raise the plate to 50 mm, and check one plate before the run.
A chisel marker sans is what a teacher actually writes with, so a printed sheet matches the board beside it. The chisel holds at 16 mm on a worksheet header, and one ink prints the sheets and the labels in one pass.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Whiteboard 1200 x 900 mm, word 160 mm with 12 mm edge clearance, items 30 mm. Planner sheet A4, header 16 mm, boxes 60 x 40 mm, 12 mm margins. Classroom label 105 x 40 mm, word 14 mm, 4 mm margins.
Pre-production check
At 14 mm on a label the chisel angle disappears and the word reads as a plain bar once it is dusty. Raise labels to 20 mm and laminate them, and print one sheet before the class set.
A chisel marker sans reads as a hand-written market board, which is what a stall wants in bad light. The chisel holds at 100 mm on a board, and one ink prints the board and the price cards in one order.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Board 600 x 900 mm, word 100 mm with 12 mm edge clearance, items 26 mm, 30 mm margins. Price card 105 x 75 mm, item 18 mm, price 24 mm. Bag print 200 x 250 mm, word 50 mm, 15 mm margins.
Pre-production check
A 105 x 75 mm price card at 18 mm loses the chisel and the item reads as a bar under the market lamp. Raise the item to 24 mm, and check one card in the actual light.
