Angular collegiate slab with inset border
Vintage Designer is a narrow angular collegiate slab in black with a fine inset border on white: tall caps with heavy square slabs, chamfered corners and a light contour running inside the edge, with tracked caps above and a caption beneath.

Fine grain and micro-texture excel in 300 DPI print, sublimation, and screen print rather than small vinyl weeding.
Visual anatomy & craft review
The two words are stacked and the drawing is an angular collegiate slab: the serifs are square, the corners are chamfered, and a fine contour runs inside the edge of every letter, which lets the face read as a two-colour applique or as a single-colour block. That construction sets a size floor, because the inset closes when the letters shrink, and the plate sets the block large enough that the line is visible at each stroke. Because the letters are narrow and heavy, the face fits a long team name in a narrow space and holds at distance on a banner, which is the practical reason a sports identity chooses this width. The tracked lines above and beneath are plain and small.

A narrow collegiate slab fits a long team name on a banner without dropping the cap height, and the inset border survives at distance.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print 1,300 by 480 mm: the team at 160 mm cap height, the fixture in a 34 mm sans, and a 5 mm inset. Keep 30 mm margins and print two colours on a light vinyl.
Pre-production check
Check the banner at ten metres, where a 5 mm inset can vanish; keep it above 8 mm. Confirm the 34 mm fixture reads at five metres and that the eyelets clear the block.
A collegiate slab reads as a badge, and the inset border converts to a second stitch colour without redrawing the letters.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Set the mark at 65 mm on a pennant, 28 mm on a patch and 13 mm on a card, keeping the inset only above 30 mm. Hold clear space equal to half the cap height.
Pre-production check
Check the 13 mm card mark, where the inset closes; drop it at that size. Confirm the 28 mm patch reads in stitch and that the pennant reads at six metres.
A collegiate face prints as two passes and reads as official kit, which is what a class shirt is for, and the inset survives the screen at a decent size.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 260 mm chest graphic: the class year at 70 mm cap height, the name at 32 mm, and two inks with a 3 mm inset. Keep the narrowest counter at 4 mm and place the graphic 80 mm below the collar.
Pre-production check
Check the screen at actual mesh, where a 3 mm inset can fill; thicken it. Wash-test one shirt and confirm the inset stays even after five cycles.
