Rope-stroke western display
Rope Rider is a drawn display in dark brown on a watercolour desert ground: sloping mixed case in which every stroke is hollow and marked with diagonal strands so the letters read as rope, set in two lines over dunes with boots, hats and cacti drawn at the edges.

Sturdy stroke walls and open counters weed cleanly on adhesive vinyl, HTV apparel film, and cut cardstock.
Visual anatomy & craft review
The plate is an illustrated poster rather than a specimen, and the rope construction is the whole idea: each stroke is a hollow tube with a strand pattern, so the letters look coiled rather than painted. That construction sets a large size floor, because the strand marks close when the letters shrink, and the plate sets the words large enough that the coil reads. The watercolour ground and the drawn props are staging that names the register, and the small signature at the lower right is a maker's mark. Because the strokes are hollow, the face works best on a light ground where the interior shows through, and it suits a sign, a card and a shirt for a western-themed business rather than a heading in a document.

Concrete hierarchy, scale and production guidance tailored to Rope Rider’s stroke geometry.
A rope display sets a western invitation, and the hollow strokes print cleanly on a light card at home. The rope sells the theme before the words do.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
A6 card: the greeting at 26 pt, the details in a 9.5 pt sans, and the date at 8.5 pt. Keep 15 mm margins and print two colours on a cream card. Leave 12 mm at the foot for the address line.
Pre-production check
Check the 26 pt greeting at home-print resolution, where a strand mark can fill; keep it above 0.8 mm. Confirm the 9.5 pt details keep a 4.5:1 contrast and that the card folds flat.
A rope sign names the trade in the lettering, and the hollow strokes hold on a painted board at distance. A ranch reads as handmade, not corporate.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Paint a 1,000 by 380 mm board: the ranch at 100 mm cap height, the rates in a 22 mm sans, and a 5 mm rule. Keep 25 mm margins and paint two colours on a primed board.
Pre-production check
Check the board at five metres, where a strand can vanish; keep it above 3 mm. Confirm the 22 mm rates read at two metres and that the rule survives a wet season.
A rope tag ties a wrapped gift to a western theme, and the hollow strokes stay readable on a small die. A coil on a tag finishes a wrapped gift.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print 45 by 70 mm tags: the name at 12 pt, the date at 7 pt, and one colour on a kraft card. Keep 5 mm inside the die and punch the hole clear of the coil.
Pre-production check
Check the 12 pt name on a 45 mm tag, where a strand can clot; keep it above 0.5 mm. Confirm the tags tie cleanly and that the hollow stays open in print.
