Visual anatomy & craft review
Kiron is a Tuscan slab serif with a median spur: heavy unbracketed slabs that split into a fork at the foot, a spur that rises from the middle of some stems and a decorative notch where the stem meets the slab. The forked slabs are the design and they close first when the face shrinks. It needs roughly 30 mm for the fork and the spur to read, and it is best in one dense ink on cream, or a single dark red on buff where the forks print as crisp cuts.

A Tuscan slab reads as a painted frontier sign rather than a modern logo, which is what a themed bar wants above its door. The forks hold at 90 mm on a sign, and one ink prints the sign and the cards in one order.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Sign 1200 x 400 mm, word 140 mm with 12 mm fork clearance, 25 mm safe edge. Card 85 x 55 mm, word 14 mm, 5 mm margins. Menu 210 x 297 mm, head 26 mm, items 9/12 pt.
Pre-production check
On an 85 x 55 mm card the forks close into a solid serif and the name reads as a monogram bar. Keep the card word at 22 mm, and check one card before the run.
A Tuscan slab reads as a printed country bill rather than a modern flyer, which is what an autumn fair wants on a fence. The forks hold at 110 mm on a poster, and one ink prints the poster and the prize labels in one pass.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Poster A2, word 110 mm with 12 mm fork clearance, details 34 mm, 20 mm margins. Tent sign 600 x 400 mm, word 90 mm, 25 mm margins. Prize label 90 x 60 mm, word 16 mm, 5 mm margins.
Pre-production check
A 90 x 60 mm prize label at 16 mm fills the spur and the word reads as a stain. Raise the label word to 22 mm, and print one label before the batch.
A Tuscan slab gives a seasonal release the look of a heritage label rather than a printed carton. The forks hold at 34 mm on a carton, and one ink prints the carton and the tags as one set.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Carton print 220 x 140 mm, word 40 mm with 8 mm fork clearance, 15 mm margins. Tag 50 x 90 mm, word 12 mm with a 5 mm hole and 8 mm clear. Shelf card 148 x 105 mm, word 24 mm, 8 mm margins.
Pre-production check
A 50 x 90 mm tag at 12 mm closes the fork into a single slab and the name reads as a bar. Raise the tag word to 16 mm, and print one tag before the batch.
