Visual anatomy & craft review
Farmhouse is a duo of a playful tall farmhouse sans and a wing-tailed script: the sans is narrow with blunt ends and a small hand-made wobble for lists and prices, while the script runs a light even stroke with joined letters and long tails that run horizontally past the word. The wings need side clearance and are the first thing trimmed, and the sans keeps a long line in a narrow label. The script needs roughly 24 mm and the sans 18 mm for their detail to read.

Concrete hierarchy, scale and production guidance tailored to Farmhouse’s stroke geometry.
A tall farmhouse sans with a wing-tailed script reads as a painted stand board rather than a printed advert. The sans carries the items at 26 mm, and the script signs the farm name at 90 mm in the same pass.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Board 900 x 600 mm, script 120 mm with 14 mm wing clearance, sans 28 mm, 25 mm margins. Price card 105 x 75 mm, item 18 mm, price 24 mm. Crate print 300 x 200 mm, script 60 mm, 20 mm margins.
Pre-production check
A 105 x 75 mm price card at 18 mm loses the wobble and the item reads as a plain bar under lamination. Raise the item to 24 mm, and laminate one card before the set.
A wing-tailed script signs a December card in a hand while the farmhouse sans keeps the details readable. The script holds at 26 pt, and the sans sets the times at 8 pt in the same ink.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Card 105 x 148 mm, script 26 pt with 12 mm wing clearance, sans 8/11 pt, 14 mm margins. Tag 50 x 90 mm, script 20 mm, sans 8 mm, 5 mm hole with 12 mm clear. Jar label 70 x 45 mm, script 12 mm, 4 mm die margin.
Pre-production check
A 50 x 90 mm tag with the hole at 5 mm leaves the wing running into the punch. Shift the hole 12 mm clear or raise the word to 26 mm, and test one tag before the batch.
A script with wing tails reads as a written note rather than a printed line, which is what a maker wants in the bag. The script holds at 22 mm, and the farmhouse sans sets the address at 8 pt in the same order.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Card A6, script 22 mm with 10 mm wing clearance, sans 8/11 pt, 12 mm margins. Market tag 50 x 90 mm, script 20 mm, sans 8 mm, 5 mm hole with 12 mm clear. Wrap band 200 x 40 mm, script 14 mm, 6 mm margins.
Pre-production check
On a 200 x 40 mm band the wing doubles at the fold and reads as a knot. Keep the band to one word in the plain cut, and wrap one band before the order.
