Soft upright mixed case with slight flaring and broad lowercase bowls
Fadelight is a soft upright display in which the letters carry moderate weight, the ends flare gently, the bowls stay broad and the tall ascenders set a steady rhythm with one descending g, so a phrase reads as friendly sign lettering.

Sturdy stroke walls and open counters weed cleanly on adhesive vinyl, HTV apparel film, and cut cardstock.
Visual anatomy & craft review
The d and h lift even ascenders, the o closes a wide bowl, the g drops below the baseline and every terminal finishes in a slight flare rather than a flat cut. The steady rhythm is the character: even though the letters are round, the line stays calm, which is why the sample sets one word with a fine dark edge and pale offset. Because the flares need air, a layout should keep 6 mm between letters from 28 pt, and the offset edge in the sample is a treatment rather than a file layer. The white field is presentation; the orange lettering is the face.

The soft upright letters read from a yard, and the flared ends keep a two-word shop name warm at 60 mm on a painted board. A thick paint line keeps the flares visible from the road.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Paint a 600 by 250 mm board: set the name at 60 mm, keep 22 mm of border all round so the flares stay inside, and set the hours in a 14 mm caps beneath with 18 mm of clear ground.
Pre-production check
Flared ends painted close to a frame edge look clipped; check the mounted sign and keep 20 mm of margin. Mark the margin on the substrate before painting.
The broad bowls suit a small card, and the even weight keeps a greeting readable at 32 pt on an A6 sheet in one ink. The g descender needs 10 mm clear beneath the line.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print an A6 card: set the greeting at 32 pt, set the name at 14 pt in a neutral sans beneath with 12 mm of clear ground, and keep 14 mm of margin all round the card. Fold clear of the type.
Pre-production check
A flared display face set at 18 pt tightens its gaps; check the proof and keep the greeting at 28 pt or above.
The friendly weight carries a paper label, and the open bowls stay clear at 20 pt on a 60 mm panel in one flat ink. The offset edge in the sample is artwork, not a font layer.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 60 by 40 mm label: set the brand at 20 pt, set the flavour in an 8 pt sans beneath, and keep 5 mm of border so the flared terminals are not trimmed. Keep the offset in the same file as the word.
Pre-production check
An offset edge printed under 1 mm disappears at 20 pt; check the proof and add the offset in the artwork rather than the file.
