Heavy compact capitals crossed by fine vertical scratches
Brush Texture shows solid black blunt capitals with tall compact bowls on an aged cream field, where thin pale streaks scrape vertically through the ink rather than reading as a brush script, and the fine marks vary in density from letter to letter.

Sturdy stroke walls and open counters weed cleanly on adhesive vinyl, HTV apparel film, and cut cardstock.
Visual anatomy & craft review
The stems stay blunt and square, the bowls stay compact and the streaks run inside the fill rather than along the edges. That internal scrape is the character: the word reads as pressed wood type that has picked up wear, which is why the sample keeps two short rows on a flat ground. The aged cream field is background art, and the streaks vary, so test how much survives at your size. Keep 44 pt, print on matte stock where the fine marks hold and avoid small sizes where the streaks turn to noise.

Concrete hierarchy, scale and production guidance tailored to Brush Texture’s stroke geometry.
The worn blocks give a whisky bar a period mark on a bottle label, and the vertical streaks read as grain rather than as a filter.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 60 by 90 mm label: set the bar name at 24 pt on one row, keep 10 mm of clear ground beneath before the street at 7 pt, and keep 6 mm to the die edge.
Pre-production check
The streaks fill in under 18 pt; check the plate proof and hold the name at 22 pt or above.
The pressed weight sets a craft workshop heading, and the compact bowls keep a long word inside one narrow magazine column.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 210 by 280 mm page: set the heading at 52 pt on one row, keep 20 mm of clear ground beneath before the standfirst at 10 pt, and keep the field flat so the streaks stay visible.
Pre-production check
An aged ground behind the letters hides the streaks; check the page and use a plain field.
The blunt capitals read across a workshop door, and the scraped ink gives the painted sign a used, working character that a clean block face loses.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Paint a 600 by 300 mm panel: set the workshop name at 54 mm across two rows, keep 22 mm of clear ground beneath before the hours at 14 pt, and keep 26 mm of border all round.
Pre-production check
Hand painting adds its own grain; check the mask artwork on a flat ground before deciding.
