Tall condensed collegiate slab with inline shading and dusted contours
College Dusty is a tall condensed slab in which the stems carry an inline shading and the outer contour breaks into speckles, so a varsity word reads as a worn print from a college archive.

Sturdy stroke walls and open counters weed cleanly on adhesive vinyl, HTV apparel film, and cut cardstock.
Visual anatomy & craft review
The C cuts a narrow crescent with a slab foot, the O holds a tall oval with an inner line, the L turns a slab corner, the E stacks three short slabs and the Y splays two diagonals onto slab feet, all at a condensed setting with a second inline stroke and a distressed, dusted edge. The combination of inline and speckle is the character: it gives a two-word title the look of a letterpress plate that has been used for years. Because the distress lives in the contour, the face needs 40 pt before the speckles read as texture rather than as dirt, and it prints best in one dark colour on a warm stock. The sepia street, the torn texture and the letter-spaced subtitle are presentation; the slab word is the face.

The condensed slabs fit a long class year into a narrow banner, and the inline keeps the word afloat on a dark ground at 100 mm.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 1200 by 400 mm banner: set the class year at 100 mm, keep 40 mm of border, and print the inline as the paper colour rather than a second ink so the distress stays even.
Pre-production check
A distressed contour printed in two inks doubles every speckle; check the banner and keep the inline as a knockout.
The worn slab suits a weathered farm board, and the tall condensed shapes read from the road at 150 mm even in flat light.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 600 by 300 mm panel: set the word at 150 mm in one dark ink on a warm board, keep 30 mm of clear border, and set the price list in a 12 pt slab beneath the headline.
Pre-production check
Aged stock and a distressed face together can look muddy; check the panel and print the headline on a cleaner area of the board.
The varsity slab gives a plain bottle a heritage mark, and the condensed fit keeps a long orchard name on one line at 22 pt.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 70 by 45 mm label: set the orchard name at 22 pt in one ink, set the volume in a 7 pt slab at the foot, and keep 5 mm of border so the distressed edge does not touch the die.
Pre-production check
A distressed edge printed close to a die cut looks like a fault; check the label and add 2 mm of white rather than shrinking the word.
