Visual anatomy & craft review
Brom is an ornate fantasy alphabet in which the butterfly's wings form the stems: each letter opens into two scalloped forewings, the veins run as fine lines through the wing and the antennae curl away from the top of the character. The wings extend past the letter body on both sides, so a word grows wide and needs generous side margins. It needs roughly 34 mm for the wing veins and the antennae to read, and it is best in one ink on cream or a soft green, or a fine foil above 45 mm where the veins stay thin.

A winged fantasy alphabet reads as a garden fairy theme rather than a licensed cartoon, which is what a spring birthday wants. The scalloped wings give the invite its shape at 38 mm, and one ink prints the invite, the topper and the tags on the same cream card.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Invite A6, word 38 mm with 10 mm wing clearance, details 8/11 pt, 12 mm margins. Topper 130 x 110 mm, word 44 mm with a 6 mm stick slot and 12 mm clear. Favour tag 40 x 70 mm, word 12 mm with a 4 mm hole and 8 mm clear.
Pre-production check
A 130 mm laser-cut topper thins the antennae under 0.8 mm and they snap on the stick. Cut the topper to the wing silhouette without antennae, and test one before the set.
A butterfly alphabet suits a spring garden fair because the wings read as the season's own ornament. The veins hold at 90 mm on a poster, and one green ink prints the poster, the seed packets and the wooden plant tags in a single pass.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Poster A3, word 90 mm with 12 mm wing clearance, details 28 mm, 18 mm margins. Seed packet 90 x 120 mm, word 18 mm, 6 mm margins. Plant tag 20 x 120 mm, word 12 mm, 4 mm margins.
Pre-production check
On a 20 mm wooden plant tag the fine veins fill with varnish and the wing reads as a solid scallop. Use the flat companion on tags and keep the wing detail for paper, then make one tag before the batch.
A winged mark gives a garden wedding a crest that is botanical without being a flower monogram. The wings balance a two-letter mark at 30 mm, and one deep ink on ivory prints the crest, the menu and the favour labels as one suite.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Invitation 130 x 180 mm, crest 30 mm with 8 mm wing clearance, names 20 pt, details 9/13 pt, 15 mm margins. Menu 120 x 210 mm, header 18 mm, courses 9/12 pt. Favour label 40 x 60 mm, crest 22 mm, 4 mm die margin.
Pre-production check
A 40 x 60 mm favour label at 22 mm closes the wing veins and the crest prints as a solid leaf shape. Use the flat variant on labels or raise them to 30 mm, and check one label before the set.
