Outlined embellished blackletter
Mistveil is an outlined blackletter on a foggy forest scene: white-fill letters with dark outlines, curled edges, an embellished M with interior curls and flourishes, set as one word with a plain descriptor beneath and two file badges at the foot.

Sturdy stroke walls and open counters weed cleanly on adhesive vinyl, HTV apparel film, and cut cardstock.
Visual anatomy & craft review
The plate is a themed mock-up, and the construction is the reason it works: the letters carry a pale fill and a dark outline, so the word separates from the fog behind without a solid block, and the M gets extra interior curls that the rest of the alphabet does not, which is a common way to dress a title. That construction sets a moderate size floor, because the outlines and the interior curls close first. The forest, the ruin and the mist are staging, and the descriptor and the two badges are product copy. It suits a cover, a poster and a label for a fantasy or a gothic subject, and the outlined cut means it can sit over an illustration without an opaque panel.

Concrete hierarchy, scale and production guidance tailored to Mistveil’s stroke geometry.
An outlined blackletter sits over an illustration, and the pale fill keeps the title readable without a solid plate behind it.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Set the title at 85 mm cap height across 180 mm, the author in a 12 pt serif, and the imprint at 8 pt. Print three colours on a textured stock and keep 20 mm margins.
Pre-production check
Check the title at 85 mm, where an interior curl can clot; keep the counters open. Confirm the 8 pt imprint survives lamination and that the outline clears the image edge.
An outlined blackletter reads over a fog, and the white fill holds on a dark poster where a solid gothic would merge into the ground.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
A2 poster: the event at 100 mm cap height, the details in a 22 mm serif, and the venue at 11 mm. Keep 28 mm margins, print two colours on a dark stock and keep the outline above 2.5 mm.
Pre-production check
Check the A2 at five metres, where the outline vanishes; keep it above 2.5 mm. Confirm the 11 mm venue reads at two metres and that the ruin stays clear of the type.
An outlined label reads as a game title, and the pale fill holds over an illustrated box without a separate panel. It sits over an illustration.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 60 by 90 mm label: the title at 14 pt, the subtitle at 8 pt, and the edition at 7 pt. Keep 5 mm inside the die and keep the outline above 0.4 mm.
Pre-production check
Check the 14 pt title on a box, where the outline can fill; keep it above 0.4 mm. Confirm the 7 pt edition reads in hand and that the label clears the fold.
