Crisp hairline serifs shine on stationery, foil stamping, and packaging; add slight offset for small decals.
Visual anatomy & craft review
Brenco is a wide squared sans display with heavy even strokes, flat terminals and a slightly extended stance, so a word reads as a stencilled crate marking rather than a modern grotesk. The flat terminals and squared corners print cleanly at low resolution, which makes it a signage and packaging face, and the extended width fills a panel with a short word. It needs roughly 30 mm for the squared corners to read, and it is best in a dark ink on kraft or in white on a deep colour.

Concrete hierarchy, scale and production guidance tailored to Brenco’s stroke geometry.
Squared extended caps read as a supplier's crate stamp, which is what a small roastery puts on a carton and a van. The flat terminals hold at 40 mm on a box lid in one ink, and the extended width makes a three-word name fill a panel without a second line.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Carton 200 x 150 x 80 mm, word 44 mm on the lid, 25 mm margins. Label 90 x 140 mm, name 30 mm, origin 7/10 pt. Van panel 1800 x 600 mm, word 300 mm, 120 mm margins.
Pre-production check
A van panel is printed on cast vinyl that stretches around a wheel arch, and a squared terminal turns into a smear on the curve. Keep the word on the flat body panel, and check one applied panel in daylight before the wrap is signed off.
Squared extended caps read as a technical report rather than a marketing brochure, which is what an infrastructure client prints. The wide stance fills a cover with a short project name, and the flat terminals stay crisp at 9 pt in a data table.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Cover 210 x 297 mm, title 96 pt, subtitle 12/16 pt, 18 mm margins and 10 mm trim. Spread 420 x 297 mm, heading 90 mm, tables 8/11 pt on a 14 pt pitch. Sign 900 x 300 mm, word 140 mm, 60 mm margins.
Pre-production check
Tables set in an extended face run wide and a long label wraps into two lines, breaking the row rhythm. Keep tables in a narrower companion and this face for headings, and check one printed table page.
Squared caps read as a seasonal coffee release, which is what a roastery prints on a bag and a market board. The extended width makes a short varietal name the whole label, and one warm ink on kraft looks deliberate without a photograph.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Bag label 90 x 140 mm, name 30 mm, notes 7/10 pt, 10 mm margins. Board 900 x 600 mm, header 80 mm, rows 22 mm on a 32 mm pitch. Label 70 x 45 mm, word 12 mm, 4 mm die margin.
Pre-production check
Kraft absorbs a 40 mm solid fill unevenly and the word shows mottled patches under a shop light. Add a white underlay or print the name on a coated label, and check one printed bag before the season.
