Sturdy stroke walls and open counters weed cleanly on adhesive vinyl, HTV apparel film, and cut cardstock.
Visual anatomy & craft review
Booom is an explosive superhero sound-effect display: letters built as crackling comic bursts with jagged edges, a small burst star replacing a counter and a hard keyline that reads as a printed onomatopoeia. The jagged edge is the design and it fills into a blob when the face is reduced. It needs roughly 34 mm for the jag and the burst to read, and it is best in three flat inks on coated stock, or two inks where the burst star is a knockout.

An explosive burst display announces a superhero party through the lettering alone. The jags hold at 44 mm on a topper, and three flat inks print the invite and the wraps as one set.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Invite A6, word 44 mm with 10 mm jag clearance, details 8/11 pt, 12 mm margins. Topper 130 x 110 mm, word 48 mm with a 6 mm stick slot and 12 mm clear. Cup wrap 200 x 90 mm, word 20 mm, 12 mm from the rim.
Pre-production check
A 130 mm topper cut along the jags leaves spikes that snap on the stick. Cut toppers with a 2 mm bridge, and test one before the party.
A burst display turns a comics page into its own sound effect. The jags hold at 52 pt on a coated page, and three flat inks keep the keyline separate from the fill.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Header 52 pt with 8 mm jag clearance, body 10/14 pt over two columns of 82 mm, 18 mm margins and a 12 mm head. Cover flash 90 x 60 mm, word 32 pt, 6 mm margins. Pull quote 30 pt.
Pre-production check
At 30 pt on the pull quote the jags fill and the quote reads as a blob. Keep the face at 44 pt and above, and proof one spread at 1:1.
A burst display reads as a celebration award rather than a worksheet heading, which is what a primary wall wants. The jags hold at 140 mm on a display, and three flat inks print the display and the stickers in one pass.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Display 1200 x 400 mm, letters 160 mm with 12 mm jag clearance, 20 mm margins. Reward sticker 50 mm round, word 10 mm, 3 mm die margin. Name card 105 x 75 mm, name 18 mm, 5 mm margins.
Pre-production check
A 50 mm reward sticker at 10 mm loses the jags into a solid disc and the award reads as a plain badge. Keep stickers at 16 mm and above, and print one sheet before the class set.
