Visual anatomy & craft review
Funny Bold Comic is an ultra-chunky soft-cut comic block display: fat squared letters with rounded corners, a small inner bevel on the left of each stem that reads as a lit edge and a hard offset block shadow. The bevel is the design and it fills into a solid face when the letter shrinks, and the shadow doubles the footprint. It needs roughly 30 mm for the bevel and the shadow to read, and it is best in two flat inks on white, or one ink plus paper where the bevel prints as a lighter edge.

A chunky comic block reads as a printed speech balloon rather than a corporate logo, which is what a comic shop wants in its window. The bevel holds at 40 mm on a decal, and two flat inks print the decal and the cards in one order.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Window decal 600 x 400 mm, word 90 mm with 12 mm bevel clearance, 25 mm margins. Card 85 x 55 mm, word 20 mm, 5 mm margins. Sign 900 x 400 mm, word 120 mm, 25 mm margins.
Pre-production check
A 600 x 400 mm decal at 90 mm traps air in the bevel step and the vinyl lifts along the edge. Use a wet-apply method, and apply one decal before the run.
A chunky comic block announces a fun party through the lettering alone. The bevel holds at 44 mm on a topper, and two flat inks print the invite and the wraps as one set.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Invite A6, word 44 mm with 10 mm bevel clearance, details 8/11 pt, 12 mm margins. Topper 130 x 110 mm, word 48 mm with a 6 mm stick slot and 12 mm clear. Cup wrap 200 x 90 mm, word 20 mm, 12 mm from the rim.
Pre-production check
A cup wrap printed across the taper shifts the block shadow at the seam and the word reads as a doubled shape. Keep the word inside the flat 60 mm centre band, and wrap one cup before the party.
A comic block reads as a celebration award rather than a worksheet heading, which is what a primary wall wants. The bevel holds at 140 mm on a display, and two flat inks print the display and the stickers in one pass.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Display 1200 x 400 mm, letters 160 mm with 12 mm bevel clearance, 20 mm margins. Name card 105 x 75 mm, name 18 mm, 5 mm margins. Reward sticker 50 mm round, word 10 mm, 3 mm die margin.
Pre-production check
At 18 mm on a name card the bevel merges with the fill and the name reads as a grey bar after a term of handling. Raise cards to 24 mm and laminate them, and make one before the class set.
