Visual anatomy & craft review
Happy Grunge is a bouncy nineteen-seventies groovy soft-bubble display: fat rounded letters with a warm wobble across the baseline, a soft outline that separates the bubbles from a busy ground and a small heart or star tucked into one counter. The wobble grows the word vertically and the tucked shape closes first. It needs roughly 30 mm for the tucked shape and the outline to read, and it is best in two warm inks on cream, or one ink plus paper where the outline reads as a soft edge.

A soft-bubble seventies display reads as a hand-drawn festival bill rather than a modern flyer. The wobble holds at 150 mm on a poster, and two warm inks print the poster and the tote from one separation.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Poster A2, word 150 mm with 15 mm outline clearance, details 44 mm, 20 mm margins. Stage banner 3000 x 800 mm, word 260 mm, 60 mm safe edge. Tote print 300 x 300 mm, word 70 mm, 25 mm margins.
Pre-production check
Screen printed on a tote at 70 mm the soft outline bridges and fills after a wash. Use a 2 mm stencil bridge, and wash one sample before the order.
A groovy bubble display announces a themed birthday through the lettering alone. The tucked shape holds at 44 mm on a topper, and two warm inks print the invite and the banner as one set.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Invite A6, word 44 mm with 10 mm outline clearance, details 8/11 pt, 12 mm margins. Topper 130 x 110 mm, word 48 mm with a 6 mm stick slot and 12 mm clear. Banner 1500 x 400 mm, word 150 mm, 30 mm safe edge.
Pre-production check
A 130 mm topper cut through a tuck leaves a 1 mm island that falls out. Cut toppers to the outer silhouette, and test one before the party.
A soft-bubble display reads as a painted sixties board rather than a printed logo. The wobble holds at 60 mm on a board, and two warm inks print the board and the cups in one order.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Board 600 x 900 mm, word 100 mm with 12 mm outline clearance, items 26 mm, 30 mm margins. Cup print 70 x 50 mm, word 16 mm, 5 mm margins. Card 85 x 55 mm, word 16 mm, 5 mm margins.
Pre-production check
A 70 x 50 mm cup panel at 16 mm fills the wobble into a solid bar and the name reads as a warm blob. Raise cup type to 22 mm, and check one printed cup before the order.
