Sturdy stroke walls and open counters weed cleanly on adhesive vinyl, HTV apparel film, and cut cardstock.
Visual anatomy & craft review
The capital B is drawn as a single loaded brush stroke that swells at the middle of each stem, and the letters after it keep that pressure: the l and the a ride higher than the baseline letters, the c and the k turn on rounded corners and the r and the u carry shorter strokes at a lighter load. Nothing connects, but the letters share a bounce that keeps the phrase looking written rather than placed. Weight varies within each stroke, heavier at the middle and lighter at the entry, which gives the face its expressive brush quality, and the terminals are cut at an angle rather than rounded. The two-line stack in the sample shows how the family is meant to be used: a long word above, a shorter word beneath. The pale ground and the ruled caption lines are presentation; the lettering is the two words.

Concrete hierarchy, scale and production guidance tailored to Blackrune Family’s stroke geometry.
The loaded brush reads as a signature at the top of a recipe feature, and the expressive variation holds up in print where a steady script would look mechanical.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Set the header at 48 pt on the opening page, keep the recipe text in a 9 pt serif at 13 pt leading, and hold 16 mm between the header and the first column.
Pre-production check
A heavy brush stroke on uncoated paper spreads at the swell; check the page proof and keep the header at 44 pt if the counters begin to close.
The brush weight reads on a window at a distance and gives a small studio a hand-painted mark without hiring a signwriter.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Set the studio name at 20 cm across the window, keep the opening hours in a clean sans at 4 cm, and hold 12 cm of clearance so the angled terminals are not cut by the frame.
Pre-production check
Vinyl loses the brush swell; check a cut at full size and keep the entry of each stroke at least 2 mm thick so the shape survives.
The loaded brush reads in daylight and the loose fit keeps a two-name sign warm rather than formal, which suits an outdoor ceremony.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Set the greeting at 13 cm on a 700 by 500 mm board, set both names at 8 cm beneath it, and leave 12 cm of margin so the two lines do not crowd the frame.
Pre-production check
Painted brush strokes pool on primed board; check the first pass and pull the brush faster rather than thinning the paint.
