Black Buddy is a tall hand-carved tiki display: narrow carved letters with chiselled facets, knotwork notches cut into the stems and a slightly irregular baseline that follows the wood. The carving shows as a pattern of small chisel marks, so the face needs size to read as wood rather than damage, and the narrow letter fits a vertical totem board. It needs roughly 30 mm for the chisel marks and the notch to read, and it is best in one dark ink on sand and kraft, or white on a charred board where the facets print as lights.
