Deco-like capitals combining very narrow uprights with an oversized circular O
Astorisa draws its capitals tall and narrow in the art deco manner, lifts the crossbars high, squares the curves into octagonal facets and closes the counters with a thin inner line.

Visual anatomy & craft review
The word spreads across a dark colonnade photograph in white, the A built as a triangle with a raised bar, the O shaped like a rounded rectangle and the S cut into flat segments rather than curved. Every letter keeps the same tall proportion, which is what makes the row read as a frieze. Captions above and below carry a small deco emblem and credit the studio, and a short paragraph names the style. It is a period display face: it needs width, height and a dark ground, and it will not survive being set small or mixed with another decorative face.

Concrete hierarchy, scale and production guidance tailored to Astorisa’s stroke geometry.
The deco letterforms give a bar a period identity, and the tall caps fit a narrow fascia above a door on a city street corner.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 1200 by 250 mm fascia: set the bar name at 80 mm on one row, keep 22 mm of clear ground beneath before the street number at 16 mm, and keep 28 mm of border so the raised bars stay whole.
Pre-production check
Thin inner lines fill on routed board; check a mask proof before the fascia is cut. Ask the printer for a sample at the finished size.
The deco caps suit a ballroom with a period interior, and the tall letters give a two-word heading ceremony without calligraphy.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 500 by 700 mm welcome board: set the heading at 90 pt across one row, keep 26 mm of clear ground beneath before the names at 26 pt, and keep 30 mm of border so the tall forms sit inside the frame.
Pre-production check
Gold on dark board can look thin; check a painted sample before the board is made. Confirm it on a printed sample, not on screen.
The period letterforms tell the reader the subject before the headline, and the tall caps fill a masthead with one word.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 210 by 280 mm cover: set the masthead at 100 pt on one row, keep 22 mm of clear ground beneath before the standfirst at 11 pt, and keep 18 mm of margin from the trim on every side.
Pre-production check
Narrow forms need exact side bearings; check the layout at final size before the proof. Have the printer send a physical sample first.
