College block slab
Vintage Block is a college block slab in cream with a gold shadow on navy: heavy caps with squared serifs, a high waist and closed counters, set on two lines with small seal badges, a rule-and-ribbon device and a script line at the foot.

Fine grain and micro-texture excel in 300 DPI print, sublimation, and screen print rather than small vinyl weeding.
Visual anatomy & craft review
The two words are stacked and the drawing is a college block: the serifs are squares, the strokes are heavy, and the waist is high, which keeps the letters looking like a jersey rather than a book face. The gold shadow steps down at a fixed distance, so the block reads as a cut object, and the badges at the sides carry letters in the same construction at a fraction of the size. The ribbon device beneath holds the category line, and a script line at the very foot adds the one soft voice. The palette is cream and gold on navy, which is a period athletic combination, and the plate keeps the badges and devices subordinate so the two display lines stay dominant.

Concrete hierarchy, scale and production guidance tailored to Vintage Block’s stroke geometry.
A block slab reads as collegiate signage, and the heavy squares hold at a distance where a lighter varsity face would soften into the background.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print 1,400 by 500 mm: the event at 170 mm cap height, the date at 90 mm, and a 34 mm line on the ribbon. Keep 30 mm margins and print two colours on a dark ground with the shadow in the second colour.
Pre-production check
Check the banner at eight metres, where the shadow can merge with the letters; keep the step above 10 mm. Confirm the 34 mm line reads at four metres and that the ribbon clears the eyelets.
A block slab gives a club a badge-like mark, and the squared serifs hold in embroidery where a rounded face would lose its edges.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Set the mark at 60 mm on a pennant, 25 mm on a patch and 12 mm on a card. Keep the shadow only above 30 mm, and reserve clear space equal to half the cap height on every side.
Pre-production check
Check the 25 mm patch, where the shadow can fill an embroidered serif; drop it at that size. Confirm the card mark reads at arm's length and that the stitch holds the squared corners.
A block slab prints as two screens and reads as kit, which suits a sports-themed celebration better than a modern display face.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 260 mm chest graphic: the name at 55 mm cap height, the number at 75 mm, and two inks on a light shirt. Keep the thinnest serif at 4 mm and place the graphic 80 mm below the collar.
Pre-production check
Check the screen at actual mesh, where a 4 mm serif fills; thicken it. Wash-test one shirt and confirm the number stays legible after five cycles.
