Visual anatomy & craft review
The slab half is a collegiate capital face with an outline and a dark fill, set on an arc so the tops of the letters follow a curve, and each letter carries a square slab and a straight leg rather than a curved terminal. The script half is a brush hand with a heavy first stroke and a light exit, and in the sample it crosses the middle of the arc so the two words interlock rather than stack. That interlock is the useful part of the pairing: it lets a design carry a team name and a subtitle in the same visual block at a size where a plain stack would look separated. Weight is heavy in the slabs and medium in the script, so the contrast stays readable at 70 pt on a garment. The navy ground, the red and white inks, the small crest and the boxed caption are presentation; the duo is the two words.

Concrete hierarchy, scale and production guidance tailored to Varsity Signature’s stroke geometry.
The arc and the crossing script reproduce a school jacket back, and the outlined slabs stay readable from across a hall when printed at 85 mm.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Set the caps at 85 mm along a 300 mm arc, set the script at 50 mm across the middle with a 4 mm overlap, and keep 30 mm from the shoulder seam so the arc stays on the panel.
Pre-production check
Pressing an arc onto a soft garment distorts it; check a sample print on the actual hoodie and reduce the arc depth before the run.
The outlined slabs give a yearbook spread its athletic voice, and the crossing script supplies a subtitle without a second headline at 52 pt.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Set the caps at 52 pt along a 150 mm arc at the head of the spread, set the script at 24 pt across the middle, and hold 16 mm below the script before the photo captions.
Pre-production check
An outlined varsity face on uncoated paper spreads at the edges; check the press sheet and hold the outline at 2 mm minimum at final size.
The pair fills a wide banner with one lockup, and the crossing script keeps the second line inside the same block rather than adding a separate band.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Set the caps at 110 mm along a 1.8 m banner arc, set the script at 65 mm across the middle, and leave 50 mm at each end so the outline is not cut by the hem.
Pre-production check
A crossing script over an outlined slab can merge; check the pull at final size and keep 10 mm of clear space between the two layers.
