of Sporty Block.
Sporty Block is a heavy chamfered varsity block slab: thick squared stems with all four corners cut at forty-five degrees, unbracketed slabs and a nearly solid weight that leaves small counters. The chamfer is the whole character and it disappears below the size where the cut reads, and the near-solid weight closes the counters earlier still. It needs roughly 30 mm for the chamfer and the counter to read, and it is best in one dark ink on white or heather grey, or a two-colour build where the chamfer carries a highlight.
