Visual anatomy & craft review
The words sit on a sheet of ruled paper and the face is a single-stroke handwriting: every letter is drawn with one even line, the capital S opens into a large loop, the L rises into a tall narrow loop, the g drops a round descender that swings back, and the e and the n stay open and round. Nothing joins, so the letters stand apart and the spacing carries the word, while the tall loops give the line its rhythm and keep it from looking like a children's hand. A soft shadow sits just off the stroke, which makes the letters look slightly raised rather than flat on the page, and two tracked capital lines name the product above and below. The palette is a single black on white with pale grey rules. Single Line is a handwritten face for notes, cards, labels and editorial illustration, and it works at both small and large sizes provided the ground is quiet.

A single-stroke hand shows a child the shape of each letter without the joins that come later, and the even line is easy to copy.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print an A4 sheet at 210 by 297 mm: set the model line at 30 pt across the sheet, keep 12 mm of clear ground above each ruled row, and hold 18 mm of margin on all four sides.
Pre-production check
An even thin stroke can fade on a classroom copier; run one copy on the school machine before printing a class set.
A handwritten caption looks annotated rather than designed, which suits a piece of writing that is told in the first person throughout.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 210 by 280 mm page: set the caption at 12 pt over two lines, keep 8 mm of clear ground above the body text, and hold 22 mm of margin on the outer three sides.
Pre-production check
A thin hand beside a serif body can look like a mistake; separate it with white space and proof the page.
A handwritten sticker reads as a note left on the counter, and the single stroke prints cleanly at a small size on cheap stock.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 50 mm round sticker: set the word at 15 pt on one line, keep 6 mm of clear ground inside the die, and hold the artwork 5 mm clear of the circle edge.
Pre-production check
A round die will clip the tall loops; centre the word and cut one sticker before running the sheet.
