Light contrast sans
Serona is a light contrast sans in white over a warm gallery interior: mixed case with barely visible stroke modulation, broad rounded bowls, a large x-height and a plain period at the end, with four small tracked notes in the corners and a line beneath.

Sturdy stroke walls and open counters weed cleanly on adhesive vinyl, HTV apparel film, and cut cardstock.
Visual anatomy & craft review
The word spans the plate and the drawing is a light sans with a hint of contrast: the strokes narrow slightly at the joins, the bowls are broad and round, and the x-height is large, so the face reads as precise rather than neutral. That slight modulation is what separates it from a grotesque, and the plate sets it large over a photograph so the buyer can see the white holding against a warm interior. The period at the end is a deliberate mark rather than punctuation in a sentence, and the four corner notes are tiny tracked caps naming the style and the year. Because the strokes are light, the face works at display sizes and on smooth stock, and it also holds at text sizes on a white ground, which the corner notes suggest.

Concrete hierarchy, scale and production guidance tailored to Serona’s stroke geometry.
A light contrast sans reads as institutional, and the broad bowls give a short name presence on a wall without looking commercial.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Set the mark at 18 pt on a card, 95 mm on a wall and 12 pt in a footer, keeping the light cut only above 14 pt. Keep one colour and clear space equal to the x-height.
Pre-production check
Check the 12 pt footer on uncoated paper, where a light stroke can fade; use a regular cut at that size. Confirm the wall mark reads at eight metres and that the mark etches cleanly.
A light sans gives a catalogue a contemporary cover, and the plain period turns a short title into a mark at display size.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Set the title at 90 mm cap height across 200 mm, the subtitle in a 10 pt sans, and the date at 8 pt. Print one ink on a matte stock and keep the title in the upper half.
Pre-production check
Check the title at 90 mm, where a light stroke can break at the joins; keep it above 0.3 mm. Confirm the 8 pt date survives lamination and that the title clears the trim.
A light sans gives a contemporary invitation restraint, and the broad bowls keep two long names readable at a small size.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
A5 invitation: the names at 24 pt, the request in a 9.5 pt serif, and the date at 8.5 pt. Keep 22 mm margins, letterpress one ink and hold 10 mm of clear space below the names.
Pre-production check
Check the 24 pt names in letterpress, where a light stroke can sink; proof the plate first. Confirm the 9.5 pt request reads at arm's length and that the names clear the trim.
