Bouncy rounded serif with curled terminals
Midnight Magic is a bouncy rounded serif in black on a honey-gold ornamental ground: short thick stems, hairline-thin joins and curled ball terminals that flick upward at the ends of letters, bouncing on and off the baseline.

Sturdy stroke walls and open counters weed cleanly on adhesive vinyl, HTV apparel film, and cut cardstock.
Visual anatomy & craft review
The two words are set large on a page of golden flourishes, and the face is built on a serif skeleton that has been softened: the stems are thick and the thin strokes reduce almost to a hair, while the serifs become curls that turn up rather than flat feet. The m and the g bounce below the baseline in the first word and the second word rises on the M and drops on the g, so the line has a musical rhythm rather than a strict baseline. The counters are small and round, the terminals carry a dot on the curled ends, and the overall drawing reads as festive without going full novelty. The mockup surrounds it with fantasy filigree, a small witch character and a sticker badge, and puts the descriptor in a rounded slab at the foot, which shows the intended use: a seasonal display face whose bounce has to be contained by a rigid frame around it.

Concrete hierarchy, scale and production guidance tailored to Midnight Magic’s stroke geometry.
A bouncing serif reads as festive from a distance and carries more character than a plain bold face, which matters on a table where the sign competes with costumes and sweets.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
A4 print: the two words at 60 pt with the second line dropped 8 mm to follow the bounce, the sweets list in a 12 pt rounded sans below, and a 4 mm border rule framing the whole sheet 15 mm from the trim.
Pre-production check
Check the bounce against the frame: the descender of the g must clear the border rule by 5 mm. Confirm the hairline joins do not drop out at 60 pt on a home laser, where thin strokes under 0.3 pt break on textured card.
A rounded serif with curled terminals cuts cleanly in card and reads as decoration in its own right, so a topper needs no extra shape behind the word.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Cut the word at 90 mm wide from 2 mm card on a laser, keeping all stems at least 4 mm wide and the curled terminals at least 3 mm so they survive handling. Mount on two 60 mm sticks behind the second and fourth letters.
Pre-production check
Check the cut path at actual size: the hairline joins will not survive 2 mm card and must be thickened by hand before cutting. Confirm the topper stays balanced on the sticks when the cake is carried and that no curl sits below the cake line.
A festive display face sells a limited-edition box on its own, and a single colour print keeps the seasonal packaging cheap while the drawing carries the mood.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 120 by 80 mm box face: the word at 34 pt in one ink, the flavour in an 8 pt rounded sans at the lower left, and the net weight in 7 pt caps at the lower right. Keep 10 mm clear below the bounce so the descender never reaches the fold.
Pre-production check
Check the fold line: the descender of the g must sit at least 8 mm above it on the flat, and the 7 pt caps must stay outside the area the box wraps around the corner. Confirm the single ink prints evenly on uncoated board.
