Visual anatomy & craft review

Letterform structure
of Kiss Me I'm Irish.

Kiss Me I'm Irish is a whimsical fine-pen print with a light monoline skeleton, wide round bowls, and small shamrock and top-hat glyphs that replace the dot on the i and the ascender on the l. The ornaments attach to the letters rather than sitting as clip art, so the word box grows a little at both ends. It needs roughly 28 mm for the ornaments to read, and it is best in emerald green on cream, or one ink on white where the fine pen stays open.

Practical applications

Project & layout
blueprints.

Concrete hierarchy, scale and production guidance tailored to Kiss Me I'm Irish’s stroke geometry.

Spring

St Patrick's card, pub bunting and stout-glass tag

A fine-pen print with attached shamrocks is the light, joking voice a March celebration wants rather than a heavy display. The ornaments give a short greeting its charm at 26 mm, and one green ink prints the card, the bunting and the glass tag from a single separation.

Hierarchy & layout recipe

Card A6, greeting 26 mm with 8 mm ornament clearance, note 8/11 pt, 12 mm margins. Bunting flag 200 x 250 mm, word 80 mm, 20 mm margins. Glass tag 40 x 90 mm, word 10 mm with a 4 mm hole and 6 mm clear.

Pre-production check

A 40 x 90 mm glass tag at 10 mm closes the shamrock leaves into a solid blob and the ornament reads as a dot. Raise the tag word to 16 mm or use the plain i, and print one tag before the batch.

Editorial & posters

Festival programme cover, listings header and badge

A whimsical fine pen reads as a hand-lettered programme rather than a typeset festival guide, which is what a community event wants. The shamrock and hat glyphs give the cover a light signature at 60 pt, and the monoline holds its weight against a two-column listings page without shouting.

Hierarchy & layout recipe

Cover 148 x 210 mm, title 60 pt with 10 mm ornament clearance, 12 mm margins. Listings header 24 pt, entries 9/12 pt in two columns. Badge 45 mm round, word 8 mm, 3 mm die margin.

Pre-production check

Set at 9 pt inside the listings the fine pen drops below 0.15 mm and a litho press loses whole strokes. Keep the face to the cover and headers, set the body in a companion serif, and proof one page at 1:1.

Brand & packaging

Pub identity, beer-mat print and window decal

A light shamrock-topped print reads as a hand-painted pub window rather than a corporate seasonal logo, which is exactly what a small bar needs in March. The fine pen gives the name a friendly informality at 40 mm on a mat, and one green ink covers the mat, the decal and the card in a single order.

Hierarchy & layout recipe

Beer mat 95 mm square, word 14 mm with 5 mm ornament clearance, 5 mm die margin. Window decal 400 x 200 mm, word 90 mm, 20 mm edge clearance. Card 85 x 55 mm, word 12 mm, 5 mm margins.

Pre-production check

A 95 mm mat at 14 mm puts the shamrock against the die edge and the blade clips a leaf. Shift the ornament inside a 5 mm die margin or use the plain i on mats, and print one mat before the order.
