Heavy rounded joined display lettering with an inner outline
Heia is heavy joined display lettering in which the strokes stay thick and even, the letters connect along the baseline and a thin inner outline runs just inside the contour, so a word reads as a cut vinyl shape.

Visual anatomy & craft review
The H keeps two fat stems joined by a low bar, the e closes a small counter inside a thick frame, the i carries a round dot and the a holds a full bowl, all at a maximal weight with fully rounded ends. The join sits on the baseline rather than through the letters, which is what keeps the word legible while giving it a single continuous silhouette that a cutter can follow. The inner outline is the practical detail: it marks the cut path, so the shape can be plotted as one piece. Counters are small, so the face wants 20 pt minimum and belongs on signage and garments. The lilac ground, the cream panel, the orange fill and the small caption are presentation; the display lettering is the word shown.

Concrete hierarchy, scale and production guidance tailored to Heia’s stroke geometry.
The joined baseline gives one continuous cut path, and the heavy strokes read at 15 cm through glass where a lighter face would break up.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Cut a 700 by 250 mm window decal: set the name at 15 cm with the join intact, keep the inner outline as the cut path at 2 mm, and leave 8 cm from the glass edge so the shape is not trimmed by the frame.
Pre-production check
A join under 4 mm tears when the transfer tape is pulled; check the cut file at full size and thicken the join rather than the letters.
The single silhouette cuts cleanly in acrylic, and the heavy strokes stay rigid at 45 mm on a cake where a thin script would flop.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Cut a 150 mm acrylic topper: set the word at 45 mm tall with the joins intact, keep 6 mm of material at every point, and leave a 22 mm stem so the topper stands without a support.
Pre-production check
Acrylic cracks at a narrow join under load; check the vector at full size and widen the join before cutting the sheet.
The joined heavy letters screen-print as one shape at 55 mm, and the inner outline reads as a printed keyline on coarse canvas.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Screen a 380 by 420 mm tote: print the word at 55 mm through a 110-thread mesh, keep the inner outline at 2 mm, and stay 40 mm below the handle seam so the print does not distort when the bag is filled.
Pre-production check
A coarse weave closes the inner keyline; check a pull on the actual canvas and print the outline as a separate screen if it disappears.
