Visual anatomy & craft review
Faith is a hand-painted brush script with 124 glyphs, keeping the bristle streaks inside each stroke and the ink pooling where the brush turned, so a word looks painted on paper rather than typeset. The italic axis is stable, the lowercase connects loosely, and the capital F carries a heavy top bar that anchors a phrase. Because the texture is real rather than applied, the face needs about 24 mm before the dry-brush edges read as paint, and it prints most convincingly as a single dark colour on a light stock. It is a heading and label face, best over short phrases.

Bristle streaks read as a painted caption beside watercolour, so a print looks authored rather than assembled. The painted weight holds against soft washes where a fine script would be overwhelmed by the background.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print 300 x 400 mm on 300 gsm cotton rag, word 60 mm with 40 mm margins all round and 60 mm clear below for a caption line. Journal A5, cover word 24 mm at 30 mm from the head. Card 105 x 148 mm, word 20 mm on a 6 mm baseline, message 6/9 pt beneath.
Pre-production check
Cotton rag absorbs ink and the dry-brush gaps close, so the word looks solid. Ask for a proof on the rag stock and reduce ink density slightly rather than enlarging the word.
Painted lettering signals small-batch production without a rustic cliché, which is what an organic tea or soap brand needs on a shelf of printed competitors. Heavy brush holds at 10 mm on a carton face.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Box 80 x 120 x 40 mm, name 22 mm, botanical name 7 pt, 8 mm margins. Soap wrap 90 x 120 mm, word 18 mm, ingredients 5.5 pt. Florist card 55 x 85 mm, word 9 mm, hole none.
Pre-production check
Soap wrap is printed on uncoated paper and the bar's moisture wicks through, greying the ink within days. Specify a coated one-side wrap with an unprinted inner face, and test one wrapped bar for a week.
A painted script reads as a hand-lettered keepsake without the formality of a copperplate, which suits a garden wedding. Loose connections let long names sit without the spacing locking up.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Invitation 120 x 180 mm, names 26 mm, details 9/13 pt, 15 mm margins. Service card 105 x 148 mm, headings 14 mm, hymns 8.5/12 pt. Table plan 600 x 400 mm, table names 22 mm, guests 9 pt on a 7 mm grid.
Pre-production check
Names are set larger than the rest and the brush edges can run into the fold of a wrapped invitation. Keep 12 mm clear of the fold, and check one folded and posted invitation for scuffing at the crease.
