Visual anatomy & craft review
Cryptavex runs across the middle of a dark scene of ruins, a moon and a hooded figure, in a gold fill that carries a grain rather than a flat metallic sheen. The letters are narrow with tall ascenders, hooked shoulders and diamond feet, and the x and the v are drawn with straight cuts that keep the word from turning into a solid block. Beneath the word a small cross ornament sits on a rule above a two-line phrase in spaced caps, and the four corners of the card carry short credits in a plain grotesque. The whole layout is symmetrical and staged: moon at the top right, figure at the lower right, sword at the left, and the type centred between them. It is a fantasy and horror title cut, made for game covers, book jackets and event posters, and it needs a large size to show the fill.

Concrete hierarchy, scale and production guidance tailored to Cryptavex’s stroke geometry.
The gold gothic cut gives a live show the look of a title card, and the narrow letters hold a long event name in one band across the sheet.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print an A2 poster: set the show name at 120 pt across one row, keep 32 mm of clear ground beneath before the door time at 13 pt, and hold 28 mm of margin so the diamond feet stay whole.
Pre-production check
Gold fills band on uncoated paper; print one poster on the intended stock and check the gradient before the run.
The ornament and the gold fill give a title page the weight of a plate, and the tall letters fit a long trilogy title into a narrow book trim.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 140 by 216 mm title page: set the title at 46 pt across two rows, keep 30 mm of clear ground beneath before the imprint at 9 pt, and hold 18 mm of margin left and right of the block.
Pre-production check
Textured fills dot out on uncoated pages; print one page on the actual paper and check the grain before the signatures.
The gothic cut suits a drink with a legend attached, and the gold fill reads on a dark bottle at arm's length without a second graphic element.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 60 by 105 mm label: set the mead name at 22 pt on one row, keep 8 mm of clear ground beneath before the volume at 4.5 pt, and hold 6 mm from the spurs to the die line.
Pre-production check
Dark glass changes the gold to bronze; print one label on the actual bottle and check the tone before the batch.
